Re: Is there a Linux Mint alternative for "Print file"?

Hello drHu, I read the links you gave and followed the solution of Mr. T. Lowell, http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/programming-scripting/69959-pretty-printing.html albeit with a bigger font and smaller margins. I use GVim after trying Cream. Finally, this give my the hard copies I want :D and the re...

Re: google earth

To stop a program from running, you can type xkill in the terminal and put the cross on the surface of the program and puch the left mouse button.
Alternatively, you can add "Force Quit" to the taskbar which behaves just the same.

Re: Is there a Linux Mint alternative for "Print file"?

Thank you drHu, that is a lot of research you did. I will read the articles in the upcoming time. I don't know why, but I have the impression that Vim is hard to learn so I use an easy IDE like Code::Blocks or wxDevC++ for C++ or Netbeans for Java. And in the past Visual C++ 6.0 and Eclipse. But I w...

[solved] Is there a Linux Mint alternative for "Print file"?

Hallo,

In Windows I used the application of Peter Lerup to "pretty print" my C++ and Java source and headerfiles.
Is there some software that is comparable with this tool avalilable for Mint?

Re: Help for Midnight Commander

I found out already. In the same directory /usr/local/bin, there is a batch file gnome-help containing the instruction to open the, in this case not-wanted, Mint web page. Analogue to the command in the link Karlchen gave, I did: /usr/local/bin $ sudo mv gnome-help gnome-help.mint Now I have for Gno...

Re: Help for Midnight Commander

Everybody thanks for replying. Yes Karlchen, thats is what I am talking about. I did what you wrote for putting in the terminal and at least I now get the normal, specific, help for Midnight Commander. Unfortunally this is not the case for Gnome Commander where I stil are redirected to http://www.li...

Re: Help for Midnight Commander

Thank you Kyphi for the Gnome Commander.
I installed it and it looks nice.
But when I choose help -> contents, the same thing happens as with Midnight Commander; I am redirected to the general Linux Mint site instead of getting help.

[solved] Help for Midnight Commander

Hello, I have a program someone advised me called Midnight Commander. I don't know exactly how to use for it looks very complicated to me. And when I press "help", Firefox starts up with a standard page about Linux Mint in general. My question is: is there no help file for Midnight Commander at all?...

Re: C Compiler

Code::Blocks can compile C code and make an executable.
As mentioned, C is a programming language.

Re: many Kaja screens after startup

The Kaja screen did not show up untill now so I marke the topic as solved.
The BleachBit tool can, among other things, fix broken desktop packages.
Maybe this has happened.
Hope it helps others.

Re: many Kaja screens after startup

The problem seems to be not so big or over. As mentioned before, it was not always that the Kaja (or is it Caja?) screen showed up multiple times after startup. The last four times I started up, there was no problem. Maybe it helped that I ran a program called BleachBit (as root) where I only disabl...

Re: many Kaja screens after startup

Thank you Monsta for this link. I read the whole story and issue 150. But do I have to copy the script that is offered there? It is quite a list of commands and I don't know what they are doing because I can't read that scripting language. What is --sync for example? Is this the only solution or has...

[solved] many Kaja screens after startup

Hello Mint forum, Right after I startup my computer in Mint 15 Mate, sometimes I got about 12 Kaja screens  . How can this happen? I have to close them all because it is not my intention to open Kaja anyway. It does not happen all the time when I startup but now and then. Can anyone explain th...

Google-earth is not working properly

Hello, Since I have Mint15 Google-earth shows only Yellow surroundings of the planet. Not the real surface. I tried from the software manager, I tried 32 bits form the Google-earth site and 64 bits from the same site. In Mint14 it worked well and in Windows XP even better (without the warning about ...

Re: dependency tree

Thanks WharfRat and wayne128 for explaining the topic. This gives the information I can use when overlooking the impact of deleting a package. I can not interpret all the information of the terminal command apt-cache rdepends but I will study more in dept when I actually need it. The other commands ...

Re: dependency tree

Hello Spearmint2 thanks for the link. Although useful, it is not actually what I meant. What i am looking for, if it exists, is a tree that shows the dependences of packages to each other. Like for example when I remove Java, what else packages do I have to remove because they depend on Java and don...
