Re: Chrome Reports Malware on "Linux Freedom" Mirror
Thanks for looking into this. Hopefully the folks at Linux Freedom can get it straightened out, soon.

Chrome Reports Malware on "Linux Freedom" Mirror
I have no idea where I should post this topic, but I guess the "Suggestions" board is as good a place as any. Please feel free to move it if it belongs somewhere else. While trying to download the Linux Mint 10 Live CD, I found that Google Chrome indicates the "Linux Freedom" mir...

Have to disconnect/reconnect to get on Internet
I recently upgraded (using the command line instructions for the upgrade path) from Mint 7 to Mint 8. Everything went pretty well, but I have run into two issues; one kind of big and one rather minor. I'm not sure if they're related to each other or not, but I though I'd post about them here, since ...

Re: Flash Sound Works in Firefox, but Nowhere Else
Thanks for the tips, Husse. I'll keep digging. With VLC working, though, at least I'm not completely without multimedia.

Re: Flash Sound Works in Firefox, but Nowhere Else
A little more info:
I finally got sound working on VLC by editing the advanced audio preferences. I had to choose "ALSA audio output" as my output module and "HDA Nvidia: ALC888 Analog (hw:0,0)" as my ALSA device name.

Re: Flash Sound Works in Firefox, but Nowhere Else
Unfortunately, the package available on Adobe's Web site isn't actually an installer, it's just the libflashplayer.so library file. I went ahead and downloaded it, though. I then proceeded to locate libflashplayer.so on my computer and deleted all instances of it. Then, I copied the file into /usr/l...

Re: Flash Sound Works in Firefox, but Nowhere Else
I have purged a few times, unfortunately, using complete removal in Synaptic. I get the feeling that this is a 64-bit specific problem. I do have Adobe AIR installed, which initially required me to install a bunch of 32-bit libs, including Flash (now, with only the 64-bit Flash plugin installed, Fir...

Re: Had sound after install, then soon lost it
Also, I know this might sound really simple, but make sure you check all of the volume sliders. On my computer, after I installed something (can't remember what, at this point), the PCM volume slider ended up all the way down. While it was down, I was getting no sound from any apps, but I was gettin...

Flash Sound Works in Firefox, but Nowhere Else
I've been playing on and off for about the last month trying to work out my sound issues with Mint Gloria 64-bit. To start, I had flashplugin-installer, flashplugin-nonfree and mint-flashplugin-x64 installed. With that setup, I had no sound with Flash at all; and, in fact, had no sound in Firefox at...

Re: Open Links In Open Browser
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that's not quite what I'm looking for. Evolution, for instance, only gives me two options: "open link in browser" or "copy link location". Sure, I can choose "copy link location" and paste it into the browser, but that's almost ...

Open Links In Open Browser
I have no idea if something like this is even possible, but I would love to see some sort of option to do this if at all possible. Let's say I have a browser open and am actively using it. Now, let's say I click a link in an external application (my desktop, an RSS feed, an e-mail message, TweetDeck...

Nice one. Thanks for posting.
Another suggestion: While working on the one with a transparent bottom, could you also work on one with a transparent top (keeping the green bottom)? Thanks.

Disable Refresh On Open?
I have a flaky Internet connection that can sometimes be extremely slow. As a result, when I click on the MintUpdate icon sometimes after I notice there are updates available, it can take up to 10 minutes (sometimes longer) to actually open, because it automatically refreshes the list of available u...

Re: Panel Moves on Restart?
Thanks for the response. That fixed it. For some reason, the "y_bottom" value was set to -1 instead of 0. Changing it to 0 made it stop jumping back to the top of the screen on restart.

Panel Moves on Restart?
I am currently using Linux Mint 7 x64, though this issue is also present in Linux Mint 6 x86 and Linux Mint 7 x86. I have tested this issue on multiple computers, including VirtualBox installations of Linux Mint 7 x64 and x86. I keep my main Mint panel docked at the top of my screen with it set to a...

Plus one from me. This was always a feature I greatly valued in the KDE version of SuSE. I would love to see it somehow added to the Gnome version (and any other version) of Mint.

Mint to Mint Networking
I have a three-computer set up at home. Two of the computers are running Linux Mint 7. The third computer is running Windows Vista Business Premium. I am able to easily access files on my Vista computer from my main Mint 7 computer by simply going to the "Network" and opening the appropria...

Re: Gparted NTFSclone Appears Stagnant
Update - I was able to successfully cancel the process. I booted the Mint 7 live disc and am currently using it to back up my hard drives. It's copying the last partition, now. Thanks for the help.

Re: Gparted NTFSclone Appears Stagnant
Thanks for the response. That's good to know. I really screwed things up a few years ago when I was using gparted to resize my main partition and lost power in the middle of the process, so I've been a little wary of cancelling anything. To answer your query, here are the steps I followed to start t...
