Re: no sound at all

...with each reboot something totally different and weird happens :) That indicates possible corruption or even a hardware issue. Cheers. I see... and sadly there is nothing I can do about it if it's hardware issues, as I don't have space to create a backup on my HDD, nor do I have a backup disk. A...

When I run the modprobe code it returns this message: modprobe: FATAL: Module snd_viruoso not found in directory /lib/modules/4.10.0-35-generic I didn't pick this up when I first looked over your inxi output but Oxygen HD Audio card doesn't have a driver/module associated with it. Re: no sound at all

Install pavucontrol and use it to set the output device. Still no sound. It says that the devices are unplugged, which is false (in windows they work flawlessly, so I don't need to plug the jacks into other slots or something like that). So, it's definitely something software / OS related, I just c...

Except for one thing: I can't make th...

At restart the PC will automatically log onto W7, wh...

Re: Think some hardware might have died

Ok :) Hopefully someone who knows better will be able to address that question of yours during this waiting period. But if not, do a google search and see if you can find out. Although, I think Asus themselves may be able to answer that question. Oh well, good luck with your issues and I am sure you...

Re: Think some hardware might have died

I also have an Asus mobo but it's p5n-e sli.... anyway, that's not the point. I wanted to say that my mobo is also Dual Channel and as far as I know you can only put dual channel RAMs on a DC architecture. So yes, you would have to buy 2x1GB dimms if you want to add 2GB of RAM. Similarly, if you on...
