fstab question, and UUIDs revisited

Hi First, a question. Has the problem of no Fstab entries for partitions other than the one LM is installed on fixed yet? If it wasn't for this problem (I understand Ubuntu started this) I could recommend Linux Mint 5 KDE CE to a few friends. As for UUIDs, it would not be a bad idea of the UUID for ...

Re: Three Anamolies

Hi. For #3, I believe that you have to add to the panel the applet Desktop Preview and Pager. Then you can choose to have up to 20 virtual desktops. Some Distros have this applet installed by default, but Mint does not. I don't use Compiz, and have not tries the save image to desktop, so don't know ...

Re: songs get stuck at 0:00

Hmmm... Just a few things that I have noticed here. When I installed Mint 5 KDE CE a few days after it was released, I noticed that Audacious was broken. It would not play any files, whether they were on the same drive or not. This was the case with sidux a few months back. Since sidux uses the Debi...

Linux Mint 5 problem

Hi Folks, Just installed the new Linux Mint 5 KDE edition. I noticed that none of my drives/partitions was being mounted. There were no fstab entries for them. After creating mount points and fstab entries, I find that most software cannot access files on other drives and/or partitions even when the...

Re: Linux Mint 5 Elyssa KDE Community Edition

Hi. I just installed Linux Mint 4.0 (KDE Community edition)( I don't bother with RC versions of any distro). My current installation is fully updated. Do I need to install version 5? TTYL PS, I wonder if more people would be using the KDE versions if they were easier to find? I had to look closely a...

Grub problem after install

Hi Folks. Didn'r see anything about this after a search so here goes. I just installed Linux Mint 4.0 (KDE CE version). I already had a multi-boot system going, with Windows Xp and 2 partitions with sidux installed. After the install, I rebooted. I could boot into Linux Mint, and Xp, but somehow the...
