Re: Two Issues With Audio
Fixed I tried the suggestions on this site . This one worked: 1. sudo apt-get install --reinstall alsa-base pulseaudio 2. sudo alsa force-reload 3. Go to your home directory and then go to the hidden config directory. Rename the directory named pulse here(forcing a new config for pulse): 4. mv ~/.c...

Re: Two Issues With Audio
Are these speakers externally powered in any way that there might be a timing issue for when they are powered versus when the system is ready? What is the output of journalctl -k | grep -Ei "ALSA|HDA|sof[-]|HDMI|snd[_-]|sound|hda.codec|hda.intel" The speakers plug into a subwoofer which p...

Re: Questions about updating my BIOS
4. The manual mentions several tools to use to update the BIOS, but just for Windows . Is there something for Mint Linux somewhere? I posted in your other topic before seeing this one. ASUS EZ Flash is independent of the operating system and many people running Linux Mint use it to update their ASU...

Re: Two Issues With Audio
@ tinker123 This is coming a little late to be helpful here but, in the future, before changing any settings, installing or removing a program, etc. always create a Timeshift snapshot. that way, if things go south, you can restore the snapshot to get back to where you were before making changes. @ ...

Re: Two Issues With Audio
I had to run all 4 commands again, pull my speaker cable out, and reinsert it. Technically, you don't need to run all 4 commands because the first and the third are exactly the same. I think you might only need the last two commands to get it restarted. My guess is that my speaker cable goes into m...

Re: Two Issues With Audio
Where are your speakers attached, the motherboard or your monitor? I got sound back, but it didn't survive a reboot. I had to run all 4 commands again, pull my speaker cable out, and reinsert it. My guess is that my speaker cable goes into my motherboard as I plug it into a jack on the back of my c...

Can anyone tell me what to reinstall besides the main pulseaudio package? Please explain how you removed pulseaudio and how you re-installed it. What commands did you use? I did both with the Synaptic Package Manager. I marked the pulseaudio package for complete removal. I then used the Synaptic Pa...

I now have no audio at all due removing and reinstalling pulseaudio.
The removing took away more than the main package.
Thanks.

Re: Two Issues With Audio
Don't uninstall any pulseaudio package! I did and now I have no audio at all. I also reinstalled it and have no audio at all. Pulseaudio is the default sound server on Linux Mint. Pipewire is available but not set up as default and AFAIK you have to install an additional session manager like Wirepl...
