Re: Boot partition is full

The easiest way to do this is to copy and paste the following in the terminal (you can do it in one fell swoop) OLDCONF=$(dpkg -l|grep "^rc"|awk '{print $2}') CURKERNEL=$(uname -r|sed 's/-*[a-z]//g'|sed 's/-386//g') LINUXPKG="linux-(image|headers|ubuntu-modules|restricted-modules)" METALINUXPKG="li...

[Solved] "icons not showing up" & "right mouse click on desk

Just figured out how to solve my particular "icons not showing up on my desktop" and the "clicking on the desktop with a right mouse click box not opening up" problems: Open "dconf Editor" (you may have to install it if you do not currently have it) and then click on the "dconf Editor" tab at the to...

Re: 1.6.7: Desktop icons are gone, missing setting in option

This still happens on my system (Qiana, Cinnamon 2.2.13, Nemo 2.2.2). No, I don't have Nautilus installed! Re: Synaptic and Update Managers screwed in UP5

xenopeek wrote:You can remove the package lists, and then fetch them anew. To do so open a terminal and run the following two commands (one at a time):

Code: Select all

sudo rm -fv /var/lib/apt/lists/*
sudo apt-get update
That should solve the MergeList issue.
Thank you very much Xenopeek, this also worked for me. :)

Re: Ubuntu Tweak/Ubuntu Software Centre

Then you can use it to install Ubuntu Tweak. Awesome tip, Thank You! :D Oops, except when I try to start Ubuntu Software Center in Linux Mint Cinnamon, it is not starting. :?:
