Re: KWallet + GPG Backend?

I don't use KDE / KWallet, but I assume, that you are at the point to create, what is called in GPG a new keypair. If this assumption is right you enter a new password, than there should be a place where you repeat or confirm this. After that the new keypair gets created. It is normal, that this ma...

KWallet + GPG Backend?

OK, for nearly a week now I have been trying to make a GPG based wallet. I have Googled so much I have the Google image is branded to the backs of my eye lids. The results have lead to nothing applicable to my situation... According to chapter 1 of the KWallet section of KDE Help Center, it should p...

I just had a thought. Let me load 16 on that drive and see how it goes. If it works, something changed between 16 and 17/17.1 to make my PC incompatible. Update: It seems that it's working, but I'm not 100% sure. It's stalled at "Regenerating SSL certificate... ..." and I know SSL certs can take a l...

Tapatalk is a all-in-one forum app. It requires the forum owner to implement support and register it though. Some pre-made implementations available already: phpBB, vBulletin, bbPress, and a couple others. It's sweet and growing in popularity. Many major forums have it implemented now, to name a few...

I FOUND SOMETHING!!!! OK, I couldn't quite read more, but it was unable to find something. After unpacking "rootfs" it said "* not found *", the asterisk being unknown word(s), several times. I think there was a line or two prior to the not found's but after unpacking rootfs but I'm not real sure. U...

Tapatalk Support Broken?

Some time ago the Tapatalk API for the Linux Mint forums seemed to have stopped working. When I login on the Tapatalk app I get this infinite loading message. I left it for 2 hours once to see if it would actually load, but it never did. However, I did notice it was able to fetch some topics for the...

Re: Live Installer Hangs At Boot

Well, the burn finally finished, but it's doing the same thing as before. It hangs after a bit. Regular boot fails with a white rectangle in the upper left quadrant and compatibility mode just pauses at some random point. Back to Window$ for the moment :(

Re: Live Installer Hangs At Boot

I haven't always had the best results with UNetBootin. Can you try a different live usb creator too? I'm using a different one called... 'rufis' I think, but I'm not 100% sure. It's installing on my 64 GB flash now. It (should) be done by time I get up. My flash had a "bad sector" followed by a "di...

Re: Live Installer Hangs At Boot

Odd cause.... Let me see if I can find something... I have a 16, 32, and a 64 GB drive. The 16 works when it wants to and only when it wants to, which happens to be next to never. The 64 GB one has 9GB left. And the 32 is missing. I will post back after I try it with a bigger drive. Also, I forgot t...

Re: Live Installer Hangs At Boot

Yes, I checked the MD5. The ISO is valid. I forgot to mention it in my post. One other thing I did forget, is that I used my pre-existing Grub2 installed on the hard drive to load the ISO, and it booted. When I was installing LM from the ISO, it decided to lock up after the format but before it inst...

Live Installer Hangs At Boot

OK, a little back-story first: Back when 17 first came out, I tried upgrading from 16 to 17. After the the update, the boot was borked. It sat at the splash screen indefinitely. I assumed it was a mis-fire on the upgrade, after all I do meddle in stuff I shouldn't breaking things on a regular basis....

Re: I can't find Linux Mint 17 KDE :(

KDE and Xfce are generally released 4 weeks after Cinnamon and MATE. And yes, however much you are assuming it's just a snap of the fingers, it does actually take time to build each release. Can't do everything at once... I wasn't assuming that it was done in snap of the fingers, I just didn't thin...

Re: I can't find Linux Mint 17 KDE :(

Sorry for the confusion of my post... I haven't been able to come check out the post in a while... this definitely gathered a lot of replies... ofb got it on the nose of what I was meaning though ;-) Anyway, does it take the LM team extra time to put up the non-cinnamon and mate versions? If so, tha...

I can't find Linux Mint 17 KDE :(

The main reason for switching away from DE is because it was a pain to switch from Mate/Cinnamon to KDE. Granted, there were other things like incompatibility issues. Now there's no KDE main edition :'( Sincerely, Patrick Thomas (Timberwolf) Timberwolf Programmers Owner & Founder ---- Sent from Tapa...

@nomko I know. I want to buy a new one that can be used on Linux @kyphi It was "obsolete" the day it was bought. It was a lower end printer on sale when I bought it. But technically, if you buy any electronic device at a store, it is obsolete. @pdc_2 Uh... OK... I looked at that list and it is a bit...

Scanners

I can't seem to find a scanner "finder". I am looking for a way to look for a scanner by DPI. Right now if I want to scan something I have to boot into windows as my Lexmark x4850 is not supported by sane or anything else to my knowledge, but I have grown fond of my 19200 DPI scan res :P The sane si...

Re: [SOLVED] Screen blanking, halting all operations

I recently switched to a Debian Wheezy based distro (not LMDE) and I found that I had to add "Identifiers" to the sections. So if anyone downloads the xorg.conf I posted and tries to use it and your computer boots to TTY then use nano, vim, or some other command line text editor to edit the file and...

Re: Screen blanking, halting all operations

When I created the xorg.conf with the items in the link it went to tty1 after reboot.

EDIT:
I forgot to add EndSection

UPDATE:
I got it working. If you want the xorg.conf you can find it here.
