Re: fractional scaling in Mint 20
a quick workaround for the moment: Scaling at 100%, but: generally for LM: Font selection -> Text scaling factor changed to 1.3 Font size: 11 (all) For Firefox: about:config -> layout.css.devPixelsPerPx change to 1.3 It's better but I'm not satisfied yet... (btw... the installation was flawless!) W...

Re: Opening certain sites leads to crackling on audio
Hi gibbs1984 and exxonin. I have a somewhat usual fix for crackling audio but I am not certain it will help in your cases. This fix is normally for those with crackling audio at all times, but your cases are unique. It's entirely reversible so we should try it anyway. In the terminal enter xed admi...

Re: Window is only apparently maximized
The workaround by smurphos (big buttons) gives you just a bigger "x" but unfortunately does not solve the annoying problem.

Re: Cinnamon 3.8.x and later - Mint 19.x and 20.x Additional Window Borders / Metacity Themes
Hi!
Is this workaround for the actual LM Cinnamon version still applicable?
Thanks!
EDIT: it works (I'm testing Mint-Y-Dark-BB)

Re: Install Gnome on LM 20.2 Cinnamon
It is perfectly possible to install the Gnome desktop environment in addition to Cinnamon without breaking anything. I have Gnome installed in addition to Cinnamon, KDE Plasma, and Xfce, as I like to change things up once in a while. (That said, I do find that I prefer using Cinnamon on a day-to-da...

Re: Install Gnome on LM 20.2 Cinnamon
I would like to install gnome (3.30, version provided in Synaptic) alongside cinnamon and be able to use both of them. - is it somehow possible to install gnome >40? To keep it simple just install Cinnamon and Gnome using this Debian 11 image firmware-11.1.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso or for Gnome 40 take a D...

Install Gnome on LM 20.2 Cinnamon
Hi, I would like to install gnome (3.30, version provided in Synaptic) alongside cinnamon and be able to use both of them. This means: without breaking my system. A few questions: - are there conflicts between the two desktops (settings, etc.) or are they completely independent? - is it somehow poss...

Window is only apparently maximized
A question regarding windows and windows buttons (close window “X” in particular) in Cinnamon: Am I the only one, that gets often windows that are apparently maximized but in fact they are not? It is matter of 1-2mm.. not more. That would be not a huge problem… if it would not be tricky to get the “...

Re: USB - Ethernet adapter
You are really a gifted joker: first you mock how expensive the adapter I presented is, then you buy a more expensive one - because without card reader - and then complain that HDMI does not work... Honestly - why did you not buy a cheapo cheapo piece on the usual sales platforms? Or one recommende...

USB - Ethernet adapter
My Lenovo Ideapad S340 has no LAN socket. I can only connect to the internet through wlan. Bad. But I have read I could buy a USB - Gigabit Ethernet adapter 10/100/1000 (eventually 2500). Do you have any experience with it? Any suggestion for a model, that works out of the box with linux ? USB C wou...
