Finally I got rid of this issue, unexpectedly, by reinstalling Linux Mint from scratch :)

I can confirm after reinstalling those packages the problem still persists :(

Reinstalling (via Synaptics) dbus and dbus-x11 seems to have solved this problem for me so far :) Got the tip from this post.

That (and the other suggestions) didn't stop gnome-settings-daemon to fail running 50% of the times a Gnome session starts :(

Please, please, me (and surely many others) want that MintMenu can be opened by just pressing the Windows key. This should save a lot of movement/time and add productivity. It can't be too hard to implement, Gnomenu already does this!

TBH, I prefer GNOME DO, activate it by using super+space. It even keep a track of the applications/etc that you open the most, so I only press super+space then F and then enter and Firefox is open.
