How to get rid of the Desktop Folder?
Well, I don't like the Desktop Folder. How can I get rid of it and have ALL my Desktop to put my icons, just like in KDE 3 series?
I know this is possible (see distros like sidux), but I don't know how to do it.
Thanks in advance.

Re: CNR Upgrade
There's a good tutorial (in English) here:
http://phorolinux.com/how-to-use-cnr-se ... ml#more-79
It's for Ubuntu, but...what the hell, it works with Daryna!!!
Cheers

Re: CNR Upgrade
Can you explain this 'download window of Firefox'? I'm not sure what you mean. The little box that Firefox displays when you click on a link to download something. In the box, you have the options: Open with: and Save Also, see your "Note:" Did you mean CNR instead of CNT? Sorry, yes. CNT...

Re: CNR Upgrade
Well, I downloaded and run CNR on Mint 4.0 and.... it worked flawllesly!!!! That's what I did: 1 - I open my account here (piece of cake: name, password, email address and there you go): http: http://www.cnr.com/index.seam 2 - I downloaded CNR here (I used Method 1 - using apt-get): http://www.cnr.c...

Re: CNR Upgrade
When I run Freespire 1.0 some time ago, CNR was my package manager. It's wonderful, has a lot more packages than Debian (37.000+), it's easy, it's free.
It'd be a nice addition to Mint, though I think that Mint's Software Portal becomes redundant. I'll try it on Mint tomorrow.
Cheers

Congrats, Husse!
Excellent reading. I'm sad to know that Daryna KDE will take some more time to be released. My wife can't wait any longer!!!!

Well, if you do it in synaptic, it should also be applied in mintUpdate. Doesn't that work? Unfortunately not. PS: It would make a nice addition in the preferences.. there's something similar planned at the moment, the possibility to define your own levels for the packages you want, so I suppose yo...

mintUpdate: freezing a package?
How do I freeze a package with MintUpdatel? Audacity 1.3.3 didn't work for me, so I installed version 1.2.6. Now, everytime I boot, mintUpdate tries to update Audacity to 1.3.3 and this is annoying. I know how to do it with Synaptic (Packages > Hold version) but can't find the option in MintUpdate. ...

Clem, I'm sorry for my previous criticisms: MintUpdate rocks!!. Congrats!! I installed Mint 4.0 on my desktop and everything's fine, BUT since Mint Cassandra: 1 - Totem doesn't output sound to my externel, USB stereo, only to the built-in on the motherboard. In Ubuntu it does; 2 - I can't have a pane...

Sorry, man, I can't help you unfortunately. As I said, it always worked for me. Now, I'm back to Mint. Please, one last try: 1 cd / (not cd..) 2 sudo chown /home/your_user_name .ICEauthority 3 exit 4 Choose Gnome If this doesn't work, I have nothing else, zilch. Cheers PS - This is to solve your pro...
