@RichyRich....thanks....forgot about alsamixer... :oops: since pulseaudio-equalizer is not supported for Mint 18 yet, this worked for me.... :D alsamixer showed that PCM & headphone sliders to be at max attenuation... :( sound working now.....now if only pulseaudio-equalizer is supported..... :roll:...

latest ConkyWX using 3 conky's running simultaneously... left side is local WX current conditions/forecast.... middle is showing 3 images: top is showing winds aloft from the GOES West Satellite middle is showing IR images of clouds also from GOES West Satellite bottom is showing surface conditions ...

in the conky.rc file he first sets temp units to Fahrenheit, but further down it gets set to Celcius :?: :?:

BoDill... welcome to the World of Linux & don't worry too much....we all were newbies once...even Linus Torvolds... :shock: here is a good site to help you create a seperate HOME partition & move all your existing stuff there at the same time.....don't worry that it is an Ubuntu site as Mint is base...

Keyboard [SOLVED]

after upgrading from Mint 16 to Mint 17 I find that pressing CTRL + ALT + T no longer brings up the Terminal...

also there seems to be no option in the Keyboard app to enable this...

or am I missing something basic ???

I agree with using Boot Repair......it does what it says...it repairs your boot sector....has saved me

installed Mint 17 over Mint 16 this morning after running in live mode overnite....

totally painless install & all hardware worked "out of the box"... :D

yesterday I tried Mint 17 Cinnamon...loaded fine, but mouse & keyboard were totally inoperable even in live mode... wifi was detected, but without a keyboard/mouse could go no further..... :( today I tried Mint 17 Mate...works perfectly so far & even wifi came up with no tweaks needed in live mode.....
