Re: numerals in printer output are compressed

I tried creating a PDF using LO Writer with some text including a $ sign.
I had no problem printing.

So I guess the issue lies with the credit card company's PDF.

Re: Unable to add custom launcher to LM 14 Cinnamon panel

I found that you can run the python script by right clicking on one of the default launcher icons, say Firefox or Terminal, then click Add from the drop down menu.

ps I also followed the above directions to run the python script directly; that is when I found that right-clicking as above works.

Re: Nemo Slow to Load Folders [Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon]

I wanted to add my voice here as well. I just installed Nautilus, and it appears to to take 1/4 to 1/3 the time to load a directory than Nemo. I'm using Mint 14.1 Cinnamon, a fresh installation on a fairly fast machine. 16 GB RAM. For what it's worth, Nautilus uses ~ 15 MiB, and Nemo 64 MiB. Just in...

Re: Mint 14 menu icons corrupted (pixelated)

This issue turned out to have a much larger one lurking behind it, namely I had to display managers installed: lightdm and mdm, the lightdm was not completely installed, and who knows if the mdm was working well or not. Strange that still my machine ran great for the first two weeks, and then someth...

Re: Successful Mint Cinnamon install/suddenly blank screen

Hello jungle_boy It seems to be due to a conflict between lightdm and MDM -- why both got installed on a fresh installation of Mint 14.1, I don't know. Please see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1743535 for a solution to the problem (the last dozen posts). I didn't realize that Update Manag...

Successful Mint Cinnamon install/suddenly blank screen

I have been running 14.1 Cinn for maybe two weeks, and suddenly it won't boot, only go to blank screen. I can get to grub menu and followed the directions in http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=122257 However, after editing and pressing F10, the machine booted to a blank screen, Pressin...

Mint 14 menu icons corrupted (pixelated)

Has anyone seen this problem? After some 5 days after a successful installation of Mint 14 Cinnamon, now when I boot up, the bitmaps of the standard icons in the menu are scrambled. I made no changes to desktop preferences, other than moving the menu to the top of the screen. And I added a second mo...
