Re: 18.3 Cinnamon 64bit nemo moves icons bug

I can confirm it, too. In my case, the Network icon hides under the Home icon, and the Trash icon moves up. Every time I log in. Other desktop icons seem OK.

Re: Mint 18 beta Cinnamon scrollbars

Thank you for the fast reply! I've tried it and it works, so it's OK for me. About scrollbars, it was my fault, I just didn't expect to find it in the Effects settings. I think it would be a good idea to add also switches for the dotted lines and the flashing edges. Maybe there's a global configurat...

Mint 18 beta Cinnamon scrollbars

I've tried Linux Mint 18 beta Cinnamon, and I've noticed four changes. When the mouse cursor is inside a window but it doesn't move, or when it's outside a window, the window scrollbars disappear. When the mouse cursor is inside a window but out of a scrollbar, the scrollbar is very thin. If a windo...

Re: pdfchain crashes with segmentation fault

After all upgrades in Mint 17, pdfchain still doesn't start. Is it working for anybody, or nobody use it in Mint 17?

Re: pdfchain crashes with segmentation fault

Thanks for the fast reply! I tried both possibilities (older and newer version), but it still crashes with "segmentation fault". Maybe the problem is in some libraries?

pdfchain crashes with segmentation fault

Is the "pdfchain" application working in Mint 17.1? I was using it in previous versions, but in Mint 17.1 it crashes with "segmentation fault" every time I try to launch it. I installed Mint 17.1 in three different computers and pdfchain just doesn't launch. Is it working for anyone? Can it be patch...

Re: Language switch and folder names

Yes, I understand, but in Mint 11 Gnome which I used before, there is no problem like that, so it is strange.

Re: NO SYSTEM SOUNDS

In Mint 14 Cinnamon, there are no system sounds during the live DVD session or after the system installation. Fortunately, the trick with dconf-editor works in Mint 14 Cinnamon, too, and it can enable the system sounds without ubuntu-tweak. It should be already enabled in the DVD.

Language switch and folder names

In Mint 14 MATE live DVD, when I update all packages, install and change language for the whole system, log out and log in, then the whole system is translated, except folder names in the home folder. They don't change their names into a changed language. For example "Desktop", "Downloads", "Picture...

Root password dialog and Cancel

In Mint 14 MATE, when I start an application which requires a root password (for example Synaptic), a password dialog appears. If a click "Cancel", the system freezes for 20 seconds. Is this normal? I tried it on a computer with Intel i7 (8 cores) and 8 GB RAM.

Re: Graphic glitches in the window decorations and context m

So, I have tested the background context menu issue on four different computers with three different graphic cards and with tested RAM (memtest, several hours). When the background context menu is open and I move the cursor into the menu, it changes the underlined characters on all tested computers ...

Re: Graphic glitches in the window decorations and context m

I have tested Mint 14 Cinnamon on two computers and I used the default theme Mint-X. On the same computers, I use some other Linux distributions regularly without problems. So I don't think the themes or the computers are corrupt. Maybe it depends on the graphic card or the graphic driver. On my two...

Re: [Solved] MintMenu needs TWO clicks after a fresh login?!

This problem with Mintmenu is still here (I tried the Mint 14 MATE edition), so probably it isn't easy to repair it. That's why I wonder if it is possible to set the default opacity to 100% in the next Mint Mate release (and maybe remove the opacity option). It will be less confusing and Mint will l...

Graphic glitches in the window decorations and context menus

I have noticed two small graphic bugs in Mint 14 Cinnamon. The first one is that sometimes the top left corner of a window (of the window manager decoration) becomes black or disappear. The affected window keeps this hole until I close the window. I don't know if the second one is a bug, but it look...

Re: dark spots on clock tray using default cinnamon theme

I noticed it, too. On the time applet and also on the CPU and memory applets. The spots are the shadow characters from the previous values of the applets. For example, when the clock changes a minute from 0 to 1, the shadow of 0 can be still seen below 1.

Re: PAE required to install Mint 14

I am not sure which option is the best, but I use Mint 14 with a non-PAE kernel during one month, and when I do automatic package upgrades, it never wants to upgrade the kernel packages. From packages.ubuntu.com, Precise, I dowloaded packages linux-image-3.2.0-38-generic_3.2.0-38.61_i386.deb , linux...

Two Cinnamon panels and maximized windows

In Mint 14 Cinnamon, if I use two Cinnamon panels (top and bottom), the bottom panel overlaps all maximized windows. Is it possible to adjust the maximization or is it a bug?
