Re: SSD and Mint ROCKS !!

I bought a Lenovo 110s laptop with a 32GB SSD and Windows 10 pre-installed. Turned out 27GB was being used by Windows and Lenovo "features".The last straw was having insufficient hard disk space to download an 8GB Windows update! I wiped the lot and downloaded Mint 19 Xfce instead. It installed smoo...

Re: [Solved] How to boot Linux Mint on Lenovo ideapad 100S-14IBR?

I purchased new a Lenovo Ideapad 110s sold with pre-installed Windows 10. After finding the Windows 10 and Lenovo software took about 27 Gb of the 32 Gb SSD, and "important" Windows 10 updates wouldn't download owing to lack of disk space, obviously the unit was only set up for people short on ideas...

Re: 17.3 MATE inappropriate display resolution

Hi "Spinner912", Whether you are correct about the video card driver number being "Nvidia-304" or not, then this may help. When I looked this up (Graphics: Card: NVIDIA GT215 [GeForce GT 240]) It might be "Nvidia-340". Nvidia Driver look up - For you -> GeForce 200 series, GT 240, Linux http://www....

Re: Can't mount Smartphones using MTP

Since recently upgrading to Mint 18 from Mint 17.2 I can't get my Microsoft Nokia Lumia to be recognized by Mint 18 either.

Re: Graphic driver and resolution

I have a monitor (an AWA LCD 26" TV). I couldn't bring up its perfectly capable 1920 x 1080 resolution by using Mint 17 Nouveau and Mint 13 AMD fglrx drivers. I fixed the problem on my desktop by installing a second-hand PCI-Express Nvidia GeForce 8400 card and downloading the Mint 17 recommended Nv...

Re: Best Display From ATI Radeon Using Mint 17 Driver

I've done some more amateur digging. While unable to find a software solution, I no longer have a problem with the AWA TV screen. I tried Linux Mint 13 with the AMD fglrx drivers which increased resolution to 1680 x 1050 maximum (but with 1440 x 900 preferred). Then, having a desktop with a PCI-Expr...

Best Display From ATI Radeon Using Mint 17 Driver

I've used Linux for a few years, but have very little savvy when forced to open a terminal! At present I have an Asus M488TD-M EVO desktop with integrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics and DVI and VGA output, and dual-boot Windows XP and Linx Mint 17. The DVI runs a 22" Samsung 226BW monitor at its ma...
