Re: WORKGROUP pw challenge when connecting printer

@Kadaitcha Man - appreciate the quick reply Gone through the manual of the 6125 & printed out the info sheet.... no passwords there, no password requirements mentioned so, I´m unsure what your response is trying to get me to do? From the mint menu-admin-printers-add printer : give the ip address...

WORKGROUP pw challenge when connecting printer

Hi, Distribution: Linux Mint 19.3 Cin Printer: Xerox Phaser 6125 Trying to add this printer, I get the challenge to give a WORKGROUP password - I´ve tried my own pw, sudo pw... none are accepted. I´ve googled to see how to discover what the WORKGROUP pw is but all answers talk about a Windows share?...

Re: "Filter Failed" due to permission problems?

Hi,
Hopefully a simple question... in your answer you say "don't forget to pair with 32-bit drivers" - how do I pair them?
thx

Mint 17 (Qiana) -boots to black screen with cursor

Hi, I´ve done all the stupid things you can do... trying to ´fix´ a BT issue, blindly following blog instructions without first saving a backup or noting & testing the changes one at a time. Result: system boots to a black screen with a cursor visible, not text but, CTRL-F2 brings up a logon pro...

Re: how to configure my laptop - multi-boot; dual-boot; vm?

@Mark Phelps Thanks Mark... great reply! Appreciate your experience and insights. Going down this path... ... if I were you, I would (1) stick with MS Windows on its own partitions, (2) install Linux distros on their own partitions. That way, you can continue to have the best of both worlds. again.....

Re: Why I am going back to windows

Hi "Tit" - you're right on all counts but you've excluded the monster in the pack. Just like my old UNIX buddies in the 70's & 80's, geeks don't learn, they just whine, shouting "it isn't fair" but then insist on keeping the Linux world fragmented and operationally... a black...
