Re: remastersys dead or alive???
You shouldn't have to uninstall them, just don't run them and for the virtual box machines, move their virtual hard drives to /media while you remaster and then move them back.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
Forgot to mention. I'm in the final stages of testing and preparing the remastersys 3.0.4 version for Ubuntu that supports 10.04 up to and including 12.10.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
Those are probably due to a network share mounted with gvfs since gvfs mounts everything in your home folder. You have to ensure that you don't have any network shares mounted or that you don't have any virtual machines or anything in your home folder. If you do, you should exclude them prior to rem...

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
The biggest issue I come across almost all the time has absolutely nothing to do with remastersys and I tell them how to test it. The issue is that they do not have the system setup for their default settings. This can be simply tested even without remastersys - just create a new temp user and see w...

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
Jessey Lawson - you are a troll.
Your statements are utterly false - You do know that I am the developer of remastersys right?
Go spout your garbage elsewhere.
If you have issues, you have never contacted me through my forum or through email. I answer every single email and post on my forum.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
I haven't been able to create a new updated package yet. I am just recovering from a problem with a tooth. Not sure if I'll be able to get anything out before the end of the year but I will try.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
The contents you are seeing is from the file that it is pointed to which is why you have problems if the /etc/resolv.conf is removed. The network stack only updates the file at the end of the link and if the link isn't there you won't have dns resolution as the system only looks at /etc/resolv.conf ...

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
If you do an ls -l on /etc/resolv.conf it will probably be pointing to another file. This is the issue and yours is that way.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
What I plan to do is to check whether /etc/resolv.conf is a normal file of a link. If it is a file, it will be removed and replaced with an empty file but if it is a link, it will be left alone.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
The fix for that is this: Network Manager has been changed. You will have to remove the part in /usr/bin/remastersys that removes $WORKDIR/dummysys/etc/resolv.conf and remaster again. This is caused by a change to the way they are populating resolv.conf since it is now just a link. I have to update ...

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
No support yet for Opensuse but I am looking into RHEL support which may work with Opensuse as well.
The 12.10 version should be out in a few days hopefully.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???
I am the founder/developer of remastersys. Remastersys is alive and well. In fact I've been in talks with Clem and Ikey to add support for LMDE to remastersys officially and that should be coming very soon. I just released 3.0.2 that supports Ubuntu 12.04. The rumour that remastersys was dead was st...

Re: Need info about the live setup so remastersys can suppor
Both Ikey and Clem have responded to my emails so things are well under way. I should hopefully have something soon.
I'll post back here when I have something to test.

Re: Need info about the live setup so remastersys can suppor
I already sent Clem and email as well at the root@linuxmint.com email address but I know he is very busy.
I'm interested in getting it setup properly so the LMDE installer can be used and then I might be able to tailor the installer to regular debian live.

Need info about the live setup so remastersys can support it
I need more info about the live setup so I can have remastersys support LMDE. I would like to support it but I need to have a chat with the whomever is creating the live tools for LMDE as it doesn't appear to use the normal debian live setup.

Re: Remastersys LiveCD and custom fstab
You can't tell remastersys to do anything with fstab as that is one of the files that is omitted from the livecd as it is rebuilt during install anyway. You are better off either creating a special boot script to mount those for you or a script you can run after boot. Casper ignores the fstab anyway...

Re: Linuxmint partially down saturday
linuxmint.com was unreachable during Saturday and part of Friday and Sunday. This seems to have something to do with nameservers and it also seems that it affected different parts of the world at different times. The server itself worked fine the whole time. Linuxmint.de (with download pages), the ...
