I have an “Update Manager” that keeps popping up on my screen.
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of it?

after powering on my laptop I get:

I have no idea what to do with this! Can someone please help me?

what theme are using for the Cinnamon Desktop?

I’m using
System Settings > Themes > Desktop > Black Mate
Looks like that's the reason I can't change it.
Any way around that?

/dev/sda drive is Mint 18.1
/dev/sdb drive is Windows 10 & Slackware 14
and /dev/sdc USB flash drive with super-grub to access windows 10

ok, i booted win 10 using a super-grub USB. i made the changes To disable it: Open Control Panel Click Power Options Click Choose what the power buttons do Click Change settings that are currently unavailable Scroll down to Shutdown settings and uncheck Turn on fast startup Click Save changes reboot...

When you first installed Linux, did the installer see the Windows installation?

Another possibility is that Windows was installed in UEFI mode from the manufacturer and you installed Linux in Legacy mode.
