Still no idea why!

Re: Problem burning CD!
I've tried different systems (all LM19), 3 different applications, and different make discs.
No difference whatsoever.

Problem burning CD!
Hi guys.....can you advise on this? I'm using LM 19 Cinammon and with all previous versions I used Brasero to burn audio CD's with no problem. Brasero hung, so I tried k3b, then XFburn......and those two seemed to go through the process, but nothing got burnt. That happened on different computers an...

Re: Desktop screen shrunk?
Thanks!
I've been racking my brains to figure how the monitor settings could have changed without manual intervention.
The only thing I can think of is we may have suffered a power surge when we had a power cut yesterday.

Tried generic graphic drivers and nVidia but no difference with that.
So I'm out of ideas now.....can anybody advise?

Desktop screen shrunk?
Hi guys....this is a strange one. I've been running 18.3 Cinammon with no problems whatsoever. But I fired up the PC this morning and my resolution of 1440 x 900 was as normal......but I've now got two large black edges on the side as it's not adjusting out to my 21" screen. Start up and login ...

Re: Kernel Logs growing to large size!
Many thanks......that's cleared the rubbish.
I've done some other searches and it all points to the Skylake Graphics.
I was going to put an nVidia card in there anyway.........so once that arrives I'll clear logs again and monitor from that point on!

Kernel Logs growing to large size!
Hi guys.....I've got a problem with the kernel logs growing to a very large size. If you check the attachment you'll see some of them are over 150GB.......and this installation has only been in for 3 weeks. I'm on Mint 18.1 Cinammon 64 bit, i3-6100, 8GB RAM, Sky Lake Integrated Graphics. Basically i...

Re: System Freezing!
I found the fix......apparently it affects all Debian based distros if certain Intel chipsets are in place.

Re: What made you switch to Linux Mint?
Like many others.....I switched from Ubuntu (used it since 2008) when Unity came along!
I use my systems purely for work and there's just no way that Unity (or Gnome 3) are suitable for what I want in a desktop.
Cinammon with Mint is the perfect combination for me......so I'm going nowhere!

Re: Mate or Cinnamon?
Definitely Cinammon IMO. Considering the short space of time it's been around it's amazing how much it's developed!
