From what I understand it works like this .. when you choose the intel card , the amd is powered down (battery in my case lasts almost twice as long) , and when the amd is on the intel one is down , and the amd one has the frequencies scalling , noticed that using gpu-z , with no 3d apps running it ...

Sounds a lot like what I have been experiencing , the problem for me was the intel drivers , adding the x-swat ppa and updating from there fixed it.

If you want you can try a live dvd of Mint 10 KDE , it seems it has kernel 2.6.35
and see if your TV tuner works with that.

I don't think its the resources , I noticed the same behaviour on kubuntu with kde 4.6.0 , especially in firefox.

I believe you are refering to http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ , the username for that is and the password is whatever you typed in during the setup.

I recommend you give Netbeans a try - it has some built-in html completition and a style builder , file browser is built in , but it is project based, and you can upload files through ftp with it , didn't see a shortcut but i think you can make one.

Same thing happens to me at work , try changing the port on wich the torrent client listens to (I had to set mine to 6881 , wich is closed by ISP but it does not DC anymore).

Thing is that the USB stick works perfectly on the laptop when reading / writing from / to it .Only when trying to boot from it I encounter problems ..
