[SOLVED] Howto change DNS servers?
I succeeded getting uncensored on the internet, but not by editing the settings on my computer, where it did not seem to be possible to get rid of the current DNS servers. Instead I did it on the router. "the" because it is not my own router, it is provided by my ISP. So now it is just a q...

I have just reinstalled my computer with Linux Mint 20.3 Mate, and unfortunately my mouse works without "primary selection", no middle click for paste. Same issue with another mouse. Can I do something to make it work?

Re: Translation not available
It not because it must not be in English, I just do not understand why a translation is not being used. Why ask people to contribute then?
Anyway, I'm curious, didn't know that pyrenamer had a pendant, thank you for the hint.

Translation not available
I have installed pyrenamer, but it is not in my own language. In launchpad I can see that it is 100% translated, with the latest update 7 years ago! Is there anything I can do that can help this translation on its way to the repository?

Shutter without editing tool
I have just installed shutter, but I miss the editing tool. I remember having had that problem before, but have also forgotten how to fix it. Any clues?

Forum security
I have just changed my mail address. Luckily I have chosen a unique mail for this forum, I get a lot of spam on it daily. I do not hope that I have to change it again soon.
BTW Sorry if this is not the right forum for this topic, I did not know which one to use.

Re: Customizing login window
Ok, so I have to use another theme. Then I'll leave it for a while, it doesn't seem to be that easy finding one I like that also supports the userlist. But thanks anyway.

Re: Customizing login window
Hi again
I think you misunderstood me, I do not want another theme, I want my user name displayed on the login screen so that I only have to type the password to login.

<SOLVED>Customizing login window
After two weeks with Mint/Mate I am quite satisfied, it seems solid and well thought-out. And I like the high ability to customizing the appearance, which I did not succeed concerning the login window. Re: Virtualbox guest additions - installation problem
Thanks a lot! I choosed to install a new VM Mint with Mate, to be sure to have a clean guest OS. And you are right, the guest additions are there and they work! And they are installed on my Mint host too. So it seems that the problem was nested in the fact, that I did not expect the additions to be ...

Re: Virtualbox guest additions - installation problem
Linux Mint comes with VirtualBox guest additions installed and automatically loaded. Do you mean that when I install a virtual Mint in VBox it knows that it is a VBox machine and then automatically install the guest additions? DKMS make.log for vboxguest-4.1.18 for kernel 3.5.0-17-generic (i686) on...

Re: How to add a desktop
Dear Miss Bit Welcome to Linux Mint and hope you enjoy it. It can be a 'bit' of a learning curve but it is worth sticking with. IMHO Cinnamon is a 'prettier' desktop if you have the hardware for it. Cairo-dock is fun too if you like the 'Mac' look. You can have a lot of fun trying different desktop...
