Apache Tomcat init script help.

I copied the script from this link - Link The script can be started manually, bu doesn't execute on boot. Could it be because I've to change the "PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin " ? Everything is the same, I have only modified the start and stop variables to suit my install directory as follows :...

File System Properties miscalculating disk space ?

Screenshot of my disk property

Odd, the contents of my file system cannot possibly be 140.7 TB ?!

Or does that representing something else altogether.

Using Linux Mint 16.

Re: No 'root' account?

The new login screen in M 16 only asks for password. Name already filled in/out. And, yes I usually use 'sudo', but to handle copying of an account's 'home' folder, it seems necessary to log in as root. Also to change permissions on files & folders maybe (?). Might be a little late to reply, but I ...

Re: Install gedit "code comment" plugin manually .

Oh thanks alot, didn't know of the 4th file. =D

EDIT : Guess my installation is bugged or something, it still doesn't show up under plugins =/

I did "sudo apt-get install gedit-plugins" beforehand though, not sure if this affects it.

Re: Install gedit "code comment" plugin manually .

Hmm the webpage which I got the files from stated this : "Note that this version uses Gconf for storing the preferences. Gconf is not part of Gnome 3. This version is primarily meant for Gnome 2. "

So it seems to be for GNOME 2 gedit ?

Install gedit "code comment" plugin manually .

I downloaded the 3 files from http://code.google.com/p/ld-gedit-code-comment-plugin/ .

I copied them to /usr/lib/gedit/plugins , however the "code comment" plugin still doesn't show up under gedit Preferences > Plugins.

Any guidance is appreciated =D

Re: chsh -I command not available in LinuxMint ?

@eanfrid : Thanks for the answer =) The description says it lists the shells in /etc/shells, so you could just as well run: cat /etc/shells But why would you need to run chsh? Being an experienced user of Linux, I have never had to do chsh myself. I was just playing around with the available command...

chsh -I command not available in LinuxMint ?

As titled. I recall using chsh -I to list the available shells in other linux distros. I was just bored and trying out random commands, and this didn't work. man chsh stated that -I isn't included. But http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/blcmdl1_chsh.htm shows that there is indeed a -I option for chs...

Re: Desktop icons disappearing after resizing screen. (VM To

Yup your solution works, but as you said, it isn't a full workaround :)

For me, I usually just open the 'File' icon and the icons will re-appear.

I have switched to the MATE version for now, which has no issues with VMware tools full screen feature.

Desktop icons disappearing after resizing screen. (VM Tools)

Hmm I have just installed LinuxMint using VMPlayer and install VMware tools as well for fullscreen support. However, whenever I re-adjust the screen size, the desktop icons will always disappear. Any solutions to this ? Thanks :D There's a relevant thread here, but it isn't fully related to VMware t...

Re: Desktop icons disappearing after resizing screen. (VM To

Oops, I forgotten to put in the type of Mint I am using.

I am using Mint Cinnamon 64bit.

Okay just confirmed that this issue only exists on the Cinnamon build.

Guess I should shift this thread to Cinnamon section ?

Re: Nemo Slow to Load Folders [Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon]

I agree on this too, there's a noticeable lag while opening directories etc..

I installed Mint on a VM though, maybe it affects it somewhat..
