Re: [SOLVED] How do I install drivers/software for Epson ET-2760
AMD 6000+ Dual Core CPU Linux Mint 19.2 Epson ET-2760 Printer / Scanner I'm a newbie at Linux Mint, and nothing posted on this forum jumped out at me as a solution. Using Linux Menu / Administration / Printers, I see my printer listed when I click ADD a printer. From there however no drivers are fo...

Re: Accidentally deleted printer utility - help
Thank-you. HPlip is all I have currently on 19.3, not printer config and my HP2130 re-install went well under HPlip. When I plugged my printer in it said your distro printer utility is missing, so either install it or go to Cups online or let HP set it up via HPlip. I may install printer config agai...

Re: Accidentally deleted printer utility - help
The history option in updater and synaptic doesn't show any packages uninstalled or at least not the one mentioned above. If I enter apt system-config-printer in synaptic, it shows as not installed. I'm not totally sure this is the right utility for printers. Is this the right utility to install? I ...

Accidentally deleted printer utility - help
Hi folks, I was having a problem with my printer (HP 2130) and accidentally uninstalled the printer utility. Now when I search for 'Printer' in the Mint 19.3 Mate search box, nothing comes up. Does anyone know what it is called? I plugged my printer back in and downloaded and used the HP Utility ins...

Re: Timeshift frustration
My Clonezilla image I just made takes about five minutes or so, to restore. Its very fast and better than anything I've ever used. I've been using Clonezilla for about ten years now. Its so easy to use - just use the guided instructions when you boot with the CD - after burning the Clonezilla iso to...

Re: Timeshift frustration
I like it so far. I always make clonezilla images of my system (with only a small amount of personal files on the image) so Time Shift is just another layer of 'backup'. I tried it on a seperate Test OS SSD (same machine) and all went well. I've even tried it from the Live CD, where it easily finds ...

Re: Driver Manager - Intel Microcode question - Skylake
Had a total freeze with Marco and compton. I went with Marco/no compositing and uninstalled compiz and this PC has been running fine all day.
I'll see how it goes for another few days then may revert to Mint 17.3 which was running well on this machine.
Or may try Lubuntu.

Re: Driver Manager - Intel Microcode question - Skylake
Thanks for your help. I will stick with the marco and compton first and see how that goes, then might just switch to marco without compositing then a newer kernel if needed. Curiously, I didn't have this issue in 17.3 although did have a similar issue at times after some updates. Hard to pin down su...

Re: Driver Manager - Intel Microcode question - Skylake
Thank you. Is the latest kernel supported for just as long as the originally installed kernel is?
I've enabled marco with compton so that automatically disables software compositing. Do I still need to remove compbiz as per that link in Mate? Even though its not the compositor I'm using?

Driver Manager - Intel Microcode question - Skylake
Hi folks, I've just installed Mint 18.1 Mate on my Skylake Core i5-6500 system after having had Mint 17.3 on this system for the last year or more. I'm using onboard graphics with 8GB of RAM installed. I just had a screen freeze after adding another mint menu to the bottom panel and a power off butt...

Re: Cannot create bootable USB with Unetbootin for Isadora
I've just tried image writer in Mint 17 Mate and it seems to have easily installed a clonzezilla iso to a USB stick for me. I've tested it here on my laptop and all seems well. Great! I've always gone to Windows and used make bat once you unzip all of the contents of the clonezilla zip onto your USB...

Re: Google Chrome went super-size after latest update
This issue seems to be 'resolved' for me when using my dining room laptop with my DTV 32 inch screen and Linux Mint 17, 32 bit Mate and my Nvidia GPU - which is the only way I can use the DTV screen with my laptop - I can't use the intel settings in my Nvidia toolbox as the DTV doesn't display prope...

Re: Google Chrome went super-size after latest update
Has this issue been resolved? It seems to impact Nvidia GPUs, which is what my dining room pc uses with the large screen tv connected to it. My other PCs are all fine.
I'm not really inclined to update the dining room Nvidia pc (latop) unless its clear this problem is gone on Nvidia systems.

Re: Google Chrome went super-size after latest update
I've downgraded back to the May 25 version mentioned in this thread and it works perfectly now. On the latest version, it also works perfectly if I use the X-org driver instead of the NVIDIA one but then I can't use my DTV connected to my laptop, like I always have. So, sticking to the older version...

I can add this
google-chrome --force-device-scale-factor=1
and all works fine.
Not sure why the latest update hasn't addressed the issue...

Re: Google Chrome went super-size after latest update
Thanks for that, what you say makes sense to me.
Does purging and installing an older version make it straight forward to update when the next update comes out? Hopefully with a fix.

Re: Google Chrome went super-size after latest update
Isn't it best to enter this into terminal
sudo apt-get purge google-chrome-stable
and then this?
sudo apt-get autoremove
