Re: Mouse not working

Why not get a Logitech wifi mouse. They are less than $15 on EBay, such as the M325 for one. If you do, also install the Solaar program for the USB unifying receiver if other Logitech wifi devices are desired. However the mouse should already be set for it's included receiver.

Re: Linux Mint 19 logo at startup disappeared after kernel update

My pc is 10 years old. The battery isnt working well anymore. Date and time have to be manually added in BIOS if I dont use the computer for a few days. Pressing F1 works as well to solve this CMOS date and time problem, because it will load a default setting, but after pressing F1 the boot then ge...

Re: Wifi not working.

Can you enter Control Panel, find the Bluetooth icon there and turn the bluetooth off? Since it's a laptop, does it have a manual off switch on it? I think that's how I got rid of bluetooth on my system. I ran a search and it's not there in kernel at all. I may have used Package Manager, did a searc...

Re: How can i dual boot linux mint with another Linux OS ?

https://www.toshiba-drivers.com/download-toshiba/toshiba-psm75e-notebook-drivers-for-windows/ I couldn't find a new BIOS program for that 15 year old one you have at above link. You have a 32 bit processor. Standard MBR method (Not UEFI). Here is one dated 2009, 4 years newer than yours. However ins...

Re: [SOLVED]LinuxMint on HP Pavalion X2?

yeah, start a new thread on it. Looks like you might need a "mod" installed to the kernel specific to your situation, but a new thread will attract specific and new attention.

Re: Wifi not working.

i thought it worked but it didn't. what happens is: wireless network turns on and shows a list of networks available(sometimes) and it suddenly stops after about one minute. wireless is on, but there are no networks available. this problem exists even when i unplug my ethernet cable and reboot. May...

Did you reboot after install? Do you need bluetooth?

Does 19.2 use blueberry or bluez? Check this way.

Code: Select all

aptitude show blueberry
or perhaps

Code: Select all

 lsmod |grep blue

Re: Wifi not working.

Still soft blocked.... strange. Try this: disable Bluetooth and reboot. I remember recently reading about bluetooth interfering with wifi on Mint, if I can find and post it. Hmm, maybe linuxtips site? update: Aha, found it. https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/bugs.html#ID14 Wireless interne...

Hey thanks all for the help
LM Xcfe 19.2 works nice but no audio anyone can help to fix this problem?
open terminal and look in alsamixer, make sure the proper channels are set. That's the quick and easy solution, if it works.

Re: Wifi not working.

Downgrade that old chip to the r1868 driver (mod). That will have a better chance of working with it. sudo apt install r8168-dkms You will need to reboot after doing the above, so the mod can be added to the kernel. Here's information about it. ~ $ aptitude show r8168-dkms Package: r8168-dkms New: y...

Re: How can i dual boot linux mint with another Linux OS ?

Did you run the update grub in the Parrot install? If so, you should on next boot see Mint as an option too. Run it and do the same in Mint, if you prefer it to be the first boot choice. That way either system can boot both as desired.

Can't you reset it using the GUI section for "Login Window" in Control Center?

Re: How I create in Windows 8.1 64 bit with 3 partitions

So long as those "fragments" or lines are passing by, the system is still working to do the install. Maybe you need a "quiet splash" screen instead so you wouldn't worry and quit the process too quickly?

Why didn't you create the partitions using windows first instead? This is for a dual boot?

Re: OSDisc.com Has Closed

I just found about this today, in fact, just a few minutes ago. I feel sad seeing the site go, but he has to do what works for him. I can understand the DVD and CD traffic dropping, but many out there still don't know how to make USB flashdrive installations with "persistence" included. Maybe if he'...

Re: what mail client do you prefer

If you have your own domain, and a hosting service, such as godaddy or gator, not only can you have email through them, you can use the host service like a dropbox to put files into and link to them. In 17.3 caja file manager allowed any FTP connected account, when online, to appear as a folder in t...
