Solved: Nemo: Side panel Disk useage graphic - not on Home

In the screenshot crop of my Laptop's nemo side panel (v4.4.2 in Cinnamon 19.3) you can see the File System label has a disk useage graphic. My Desktop also has the same graphic under the Home folder as well, but for some reason it does not appear in the Laptop. Anyway to rectify this? Screenshot fr...

[SOLVED] Cinnamon 19.1 New Panel - after installation

Can someone confirm how the revert to old style panel is done (after installation), I presumed that it was "just a click away" but I think that is only during initial installation. Is it just a case of downloading and installing/adding the appropriate old style panel Applet then deleting the new sty...

Re: Anyone else get flickering desktop backgrounds and windows periodically on NVIDIA cards in Cinnamon?

I have experienced this issue three or four times since 18.3. I run dual monitors and it only occurs on the secondary, and especially when Firefox Q is running.

Installing Gnome Recipes in Mint 18.2 Cinnamon

I have tried Gourmet and it is clunky and with bugs and apparently no longer developed, I have also used Krecipes which is close to what I want. There is not much else to try. Is it at all possible to install Gnome Recipes, preferably without having to change DE?

Re: All Windows Losing Opacity in 18.1 Cinnamon 64-bit

Cosmo...I just checked that setting under Windows>Titlebar. "Action on title bar with mouse scroll" is set to Nothing. I just tried it to see if that setting might not be working but checking after both doing a scroll up and down on my mouse wheel while the cursor was on the titlebar failed to get ...

Did you try Software Manager, there is a recent version in the repository, I use it to sync across my LAN and locally attached drives and it works very well.

Well. I note the list of files removed by installing WINE includes libegl1-mesa, libegl1-mesa-drivers, libglapi-mesa, udev, nvidia-libopencl1-331, nvidia-libopencl1-340, libgles2-mesa, libudev1, libgl1-mesa-glx, libwayland-egl1-mesa I may be wrong but I suspect some are being replaced to avoid confl...

Restoring files removed by Software Manager

Sorry if this is a bit of a noobs question. I want to try a program (actually it doesn't matter which for the purpose of the question) and at the time of the install Software Manager advises it will remove some existing files/Libraries and replace them with something with a completely different name...

Dual boot KDE and Cinnamon 17.xxx or....

I like Cinnamon 17 a whole lot. However, there are a some KDE programs which I also wish to use. I have tried the KDE spin of Mint, and the DE is not one I would want to use full time. So, I was wondering, a) I know I can install KDE alongside Cinnamon.. I have my /home folder in a separate partitio...

Re: Can Not Find Google Earth

When I go into software manager and search for Google Earth it returns the below. If you search for the term "Google-Earth" instead of "Google Earth" you will find the item imediately. The software manager searches on a strict alpha basis, so sometimes you need to know the precise name of the item ...

Re: Installing Fglrx crashes Cinnamon

Oh, I get it now. it's hybrid graphics... If you want to use fglrx you will need to disable the HD 4250 card, but I am not sure if it's possible. Sounds like switcheroo might be your friend here, but I have no knowledge on that. Someone else should be able to help here. Switcheroo apparently will e...

Re: Installing Fglrx crashes Cinnamon

Are you using both cards ? fglrx will only support the HD 5650, so you won't be able to run dual head with that. How do you install fglrx ? From repos or from AMD installer ? Does it generate xorg.conf ? If yes, post it here. The laptop does not provide a method of switching between cards. - until ...
