SOLVED Etcher issue re bootable USB new 64GB USB now 3.84MB
Thanks all for your replys. ZCOT thanks for your response. I tried to boot from the stick again and this time, after a little while, Linux automatically booted from the USB and I am writing this response via the Linux OS. The mouse however did not show on screen so it was an automatic load of the fi...

Re: Etcher issue re bootable USB new 64GB USB now 3.84MB
Thanks kadaitcha and JerryF for your responses. Please note I have less skill at doing the things you suggest than you think! Jerry could you add a little more to how to do as you suggest in Windows 10 as I can't remember how to access the correct screen to do this or what it is called. Your descrip...

Re: Verifying ISO images?
Moem,
Thanks for the response. I have just posted the issue in the installation listing.
I am currently assuming my 64GB still exist on the USB and that the missing storage & bootable issue can be resolved.
Thanks

SOLVED Etcher issue re bootable USB new 64GB USB now 3.84MB
I am soon to take the leap into building my own PC as this current one has already had a couple of hardware failures, (which is why it currently has Windows 10), and so have just successfully downloaded Mint 20 including checked & verified in anticipation of my new build. I have tried to create ...

Re: Verifying ISO images?
PBear Thanks for your reply and apologies for my VERY tardy response. When you just use a PC rather than getting into the weeds regularly it all gets lost and so thanks for pointing out my error yet again. At least I am consistent! I am soon to take the leap into building my own PC as this current o...

VLC freezes system when accessing video camera
This is the first time I have tried to take a photo via my Logitech webcam using VLC - (Is there another way to take a photo?). When selecting video capture the system appears to freeze, although the mouse will still move around the screen but the buttons and the keyboard do not work. The webcam and...

Re: Malware or possible hardware issue?
Pjotr,
You were correct.
The primary boot device had changed from the SSD to the DVD player - How this has happened is however a mystery as it certainly wasn't me.
Thanks

Re: Malware or possible hardware issue?
Pjotr, Thanks for the link re the advise on the ESET product. When I had a Windows computer this was the best commercial product available but from the information I can see it is a vulnerability and will remove it. FIX SHOWN below - CUPS issue after MINT levels 1 - 3 update
Mint18 - I applied the updates, levels 1 to 3, on the 28th March and there is now an issue 'failed to connect to CUPS server; giving up' so my printer, which has been working without issue is no longer visible. I have tried using the printing troubleshooting tool which states - The 'CUPS' print spoo...

Re: Epson printer not found after latest Mint update 28 Mar 17
I was beginning to think it was only me with this issue. I have also tried using the printing troubleshooting tool which states - The 'CUPS' print spooler does not appear to be running. To correct this choose System->Administration->Services-> from the main menu and look for the 'CUPS' service. I am...

Firefox has lost the search function in latest upgrade
I have just applied the latest upgrade to Firefox48 and have lost the search capability. No search occurs when using the search box. The search tab in preferences does nothing with the page remaining on whatever was being viewed previously i.e. General, Content, Applications .... How do I regress to...
