Re: Remove the white line from the top window border

Well the css is a bit messy and hard to decipher but that white line is being caused by a box-shadow. So look for a very light or white box shadow that you need to get rid of.

Re: Help to fix the desktop, no menu on bottom left

That isn't Cinnamon, it's GNOME Shell. You must have done something to install it because Mint doesn't offer it out of the box. You should still be able to get Cinnamon from the login screen. There is a little icon next to your username. Click that and choose Cinnamon from the dropdown when you log ...

Re: Where to make Cinnamon feature requests

I just did a search for the word panel. People will use different terms and descriptions that you might not expect so I usually don't go too specific with search terms.

You opened it before I looked. There was already an open request for the feature you want.

Re: Where to make Cinnamon feature requests

The best place to do so it here: https://github.com/orgs/linuxmint/discussions Just please do a search first and be sure that it isn't already requested. It also helps to describe your request and how you'd like it to work. Many people ask for things that never get done for various reasons but it pu...

Re: White highlights on all dark theme buttons

That's an issue with your gtk theme, not the Cinnamon theme. Your buttons have a box-shadow that needs to be removed.

Re: Mint 19 Cinnamon. nemo-desktop segfault. Python problem.

I'd appreciate some educated pointers as to what exactly could be the problem
Don't mess with your system python install if you don't know how to get back to what it should be. And maybe don't use unsupported versions of a distro if you want to use newer things.

Re: Is a Live Stock Market feed possible in LibreOffice Calc?

I'm assuming you want something like the GOOGLEFINANCE() function in calc. It's a workaround but here is how someone made it work: https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/live-stock-quotes/52843/7

Re: Cinnamon window-top-border double-click behavior 20.3 vs 21.2

The feature is still there and seems to work the same in 21.3. If you hover the top of the titlebar where the resize arrow shows and then double click, it maximizes vertically. Some windows, such as those that are client side decorated like Calculator, ignore this functionality. That's just a differ...

Re: Do Cinnamon themes run arbritrary code like KDE themes?

The Cinnamon spices were moved to being hosted in a Mint controlled github repo quite some time ago. This was one of the main reasons why. It means that any spices added or code changes to them have to be approved by Mint devs before they make it to a user. It helps to eliminate the possibility of t...

Re: Development with an eye towards making a Mint utility

I would go with write the interface programmatically or use Glade. Either of those options should be fine. Glade really is just about convenience.

Re: Papirus Icons Slow Down Nemo

Don't know if the same thing is happening here but we've run into a similar issue before with icon views. Papirus ships all it's icons as .svg. Mint-Y ships it's icons as PNG's rendered from an svg source. We've seen proof in the past that the PNG icon themes rendered much faster in icon views and a...

For 2) hand coding or using Glade doesn't really matter. Glade is mostly used as a convenience and is not necessary.

Re: Cinnamon 6.0 and wayland support - (AMD graphics on Fedora)

I'm not sure about the display manager, do the DE's bring their own to the table? Because this is Workstation so I have Gnome, but I added Cinnamon for "casual" time and use Gnome when I want to focus hard on work. Cinnamon uses LightDM so it would likely have added that. Cinnamon doesn't...

Re: Menu description / comment toggle for apps

How are comments shown without an app being selected?

They are shown directly under the app name for all apps.

I believe one of the 3rd party menus like Cinnamenu offers this functionality. You can get it from System Settings->Applets.
