Re: Mint 9 mouse issue

This appears to be a Ubuntu/Gnome issue:

At least I'm not alone now!

Re: Mint 9 mouse issue

Thanks. I will give it a shot and report back. I didn't have this issue with Mint 7, so I'm curious as to what might have triggered the problem.

Mint 9 mouse issue

Hi, I've used Mint 7 for a while and recently did a clean install of Mint 9 Isadora on a Dell Latitude D600 laptop with 512K RAM and 40 GB hard drive. My main problem is the use of the mouse (the joystick in the middle of the keyboard on the Dell--NOT a USB mouse) is very erratic. The Dell has two s...

Old Logo

Actually, the old logo reminded me a little bit of the Green Lantern, the superhero, which is why I thought it was kinda cool. I know that it's closer to Ubuntu than the GL, but the logo seemed simple yet powerful. Thanks for letting us vote! One thing I noticed: in Group C, two logos are running ne...

surprised by how much i like gnome

I'm pretty new, but I tested MEPIS, PCLOS, and others before deciding on Mint. Coming from windows, I thought for sure that I would like KDE-based distros better. When I tried Mint, though, I immediately felt more at home than in KDE. Not sure why--I do like the artwork, and I think that everything ...

Update

Just an update, Beagle and ctrl-F searches worked after re-booting. Strange--I didn't adjust any settings. Seems just as mysterious as mover's report.

beagle search doesn't work for me

I'm experiencing the same problem as mover with my Beagle search. I search for things that I know are there and get zero results. "Search & Indexing" ticks are all on. I don't have any extra panels to delete/add like the OP did. I added / to the search places. Nothing shows up when sea...

Thanks and a clarification

Thanks, Shane. Your guide helped me to install Mint to my notebook yesterday, and it took a lot of the anxiety out of the process. One step, though, that could be clarified--during the "Mount Partitions" step (step 5). By default, I think, Gparted assigns the first partition "/media/h...

configure error after install build-essential

Hi, Thanks for the tip on GnuCash! I look forward to trying it out. I'm running into an error on the "./configure" step. I read the link to install build-essential on the ubuntu forum. I did that and eliminated the compiler error. Now, though, this shows up at the end of the ./configure st...
