Re: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD; TRIM enabled?

Sorry, I completely misread your op. I am in the same boat though. I have the exact same SSD. I have a 120 for / and a 250 for /home.

Hmm. Now, I'm confused. I'm not seeing any zeros either. I'll keep an eye on this thread and let you know if I find anything out. Thanks.

First, just run fstrim -v / and then for other partitions you want as well. Then set up a daily cron job: Set up fstrim: sudo gedit /etc/cron.daily/trim add: #!/bin/sh LOG=/var/log/trim.log echo "*** $(date -R) ***" >> $LOG fstrim -v / >> $LOG fstrim -v /home >> $LOG sudo chmod +x /etc/cron.daily/tr...

roblm, Thanks for replying. I appreciate your posts. No, I'm not getting that error because I'm compiling straight from source. https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/log/ I'm not getting any critical errors at all. I am just trying to learn as much about the kernel build as...

Re: Install Nvidia proprietary drivers in LinuxMint UPDATED

In my first post in this topic, I stated how I've been unable to install Nvidia drivers downloaded from the Nvidia website in Mint 16. I checked that site recently to see if newer drivers were available for my video card, which is a GeForce 210. The 331.67 driver was available, which supports video...

You can't use the drivers from driver manager. Support wasn't added for your card until 334.21. You will have to download and install manually directly from Nvidia.

^ My issue with this is exactly what you are saying. When I stop mdm, I lose everything. I cannot get to tty1. Nothing. I would love to be able to apply manually instead of exorg-edgers, but I cannot get past this point.

I think it's inxi -Gx to see your drivers being used. If that's not it use inxi -F. That will show you everything.

Hello, fellow strugglers. I, like you guys have been struggling to get this figured out. After reading the several topics on this board regarding the Nvidia drivers, I finally fell upon the one set of instructions that not only got me working again, but got me to the most updated point I had hoped t...

Re: Cinnamon 2.0

Try this, should fix the problem. Posted by zerozero in another topic. ok i found the issue (sorry for taking so long) 1- the ppa is correct (no need to edit) 2- the question is pin-priority, cinnamon and nemo are also in mint's repo and those have higher priority than the ppa's 3- to overcome this...
