Wacom Bamboo Capture CTH-470/S Stylus Button Assignment

I'm running LMDE and am having some issues with my Bamboo Capture. Almost everything works right, but there are a few things that I can't seem to figure out. I was able to set 2 out of 4 ExpressKeys, one to a key combo that runs a Touch Toggle script and another which is simply Ctrl+Z. The other bot...

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

Fell asleep last night and that's why I didn't respond. Anyways, it appears that the extra newline character was necessary. I removed and tested without that newline character for sanity and this is indeed the case. dpkg --audit just says that the packages are unpacked but not configured. I ran the ...

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

Looking at the .tar.gz package from Adobe, there seems to be two executables: /usr/bin/flash-player-properties and /usr/lib/kde4/kcm_adobe_flash_player.so. The latter seems to run as an argument to the kcmshell4 command. Everything else in the package are pixelmaps, icons, and .desktop files.

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

That gives us The following packages have been unpacked but not yet configured. They must be configured using dpkg --configure or the configure menu option in dselect for them to work: mint-flashplugin Metapackage for Adobe Flash plugin The following packages are only half configured, probably due t...

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

I've never installed flash manually so it's a little confusing, especially the package manager behavior. They basically just have a .tar.gz file with /usr packed into it with several sub-directories and files, it's obvious where this goes. However, they have libflashplayer.so simply packaged in the...

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

Well WharfRat, the dpkg --purge worked but attempting to install still returns the same. Checking here https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ shows that I do not indeed have flash now. However, I still have "Adobe Flash Player" under the "Preferences" menu in Cinnamon.

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

That one was the symlink to /opt/mint-flashplugin-11/libflashplayer.so Alright, I've got the symlink fixed now. Tried the --fix-broken install again just for sanity, same errors. While we're on the topic of different .so files, does /opt/mint-flashplugin-11/libflashplayer.so happen to be different ...

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

Code: Select all

dpkg: warning: ignoring request to remove mint-meta-codecs which isn't installed
Also, I did "locate libflashplayer.so" and found /etc/alternatives/libflashplayer.so. I believe I also replaced this one, so I copied "/var/lib/dpkg/alternatives/libflashplayer.so" to that directory as well.

WharfRat wrote:If no joy there then recreate the file. Then try apt-get install --fix-broken again.
The file is recreated as shown and I tried installing with --fix-broken but am getting the same cryptic errors.

Re: Can't remove mint-flashplugin after I overwrote its file

GeneBenson has already given you a possible solution to the problem. The file libflashplayer.so in /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives is supposed to be a text file containing something like the lines he gave in his posting of June 18. It describes the alternatives setting for that package. If yours doesn't...

Re: Hot corners in LM15 Cinnamon

Hot Corners are controlled with Applets, which you'll find in the System Settings. By default you have Expo and Scale. Though you can install new applets (and not just for hot corners), you can also set a custom one. Though I'm not familiar with this feature; I'm assuming you just point to your cust...

Hard to tell because the image is small, but I would try reloading cinnamon. You can this by pressing Alt+F2 and enter "r" without quotes into the text box.

Re: Desktop icon text colour

Under System Settings you'll see "Themes". Here you can change your theme, get more themes online, and change miscellaneous settings like Icons and Window Borders. You'll notice that under the "Installed" tab you only have Cinnamon, whereas in the "Other Settings" tab you have several things like Mi...

This has been changed to be included in "System Settings" under "System Tools". You have to switch to "advanced mode", which is displayed at the bottom of the System Settings dialog. See pictures of dialog windows

how can I do unencrypted boot on USB, and full encrypted HDD then? because I wanna boot system from USB Have a look at the application "cryptkeeper". It's a tray applet that allows you to create and access encrypted folders. These folders are then hidden and can only be accessed via the cryptkeeper...
