Re: LMDE2 Disk Partition

@ jonesypeter Hi, I am an everyday LMDE2 user and like it a lot. Hope the following will help you. 1. Enter the BIOS of your laptop/computer 2. Place the DVD in the DVD reader and change the boot sequence to boot from the DVD 3. Save the change and press Enter. 4. LMDE will boot and take you to the ...

Re: LMDE 2 ISO Image

An updated ISO image of Betsy would be greatly appreciated. I recently installed Betsy on a friend's box and the updates were huge. Keep in mind that Betsy was launched almost a year ago and lots of changes occurred since then. So this is my request to Clem: kindly issue an updated ISO image of Bets...

Re: Building Lumina from source on LMDE2

Hi tclark! On July 20th, Manjaro released a fifth update to the stable 0.8.13 edition and it also included the Lumina desktop 0.8.5. I gave it a try. The Lumina desktop is a fine work in progress. I have no doubt that Ken Moore will garner a large following of fans and contributors. Thanks for point...

Re: 'betsy-partner' channel problem downloading flash

Good morning/day/evening markwilson!
I have successfully imported Chrome bookmarks into Opera and Opera makes it newbie-proof :D
It is that simple: in the upper left corner of the screen click the Opera menu button. Then select Bookmarks/Import bookmarks.
Hope this helps.

Re: 'betsy-partner' channel problem downloading flash

May I suggest an alternative option: you can install Opera and the pepper-flash-plugin-non-free. Get the latest version of Opera here: http://www.opera.com/ Then launch Synaptic Package Manager, in the Quick-filter box type "pepperflashplugin" in one word and without the quotes . I have replaced Goo...

Re: Building Lumina from source on LMDE2

Hi - I tried installing Lumina DE on Betsy-Mate-64bits and Betsy-Cinnamon-64bits as per the steps outlined in your 2nd post. Everyting went fine until I reached the last 2 steps: ~/lumina $ make excerpt from the terminal: cd libLumina/ && ( test -e Makefile || /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/bin/qmake...

Re: Building Lumina from source on LMDE2

Hi - I followed the steps detailed in your second post to the letter. Unfortunately, I was not successful. What did I do wrong? Should I have followed the steps in your first post before anything else? Please note that I am a new comer to Linux so my abilities and knowledge are somewhat limited. One...

Re: Betsy-Mate-64bits changing icon set impossible

In Synaptic, I selected and installed the Gnome-Tweak-Tools. Alas, searching the Menu, the tweak tools are no where to be found. Some disappointment and frustration here. Forever grateful to anyone who can help me solve this issue.

Re: Betsy-Mate-64bits changing icon set impossible

First of all, thank you kindly for showing interest in replying to my post. Here is what I did: a) surfed to the noobslab.com site, click this link http://www.noobslab.com/2015/01/dalisha-icon-set-updated-works-in-all.html b) and followed the instructions for installing on Debian: in a terminal wind...

(SOLVED) Betsy-Mate-64bits changing icon set impossible

Greetings to all members, Installed Betsy-Mate-64bits without a glitch. Downloaded and installed the Dalisha 3.0 icon set. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to switch from the original Mate icon set to the Dalisha icon set. I looked at the Preferences/Administration/System Tools to find an option t...

Re: Newcomer - Hardware configuration

:D Thanks a million, homerscousin. The kind of information I was looking for. Quite pertinent too. I have no intention of going for the newer Intel CPU and I am not a gamer. I read that the Intel HD4000 GPU is causing some issues and is not so reliable; so I've been advised to pick a better performi...

Newcomer - Hardware configuration

:?: Greetings from Montreal, FIRST POST: Been running BeOS for the past 15 years but had to part ways in February and have been looking for a replacement OS since. Long story short: both Linux Mint and LMDE caught my attention. Now since I need to get a new desktop computer, I thought of asking savv...
