Hi - to add my comment on this. The applet doesn't sync with the Lightning calendar either. Weekly events, changed from Thursday to Sunday now appear on both days along with a reminder....
As the OP asks - is this a bug?

I have to use the disk utility to unmount and power off an external HD after running Timeshift or a backup. Does the size of the external disk make a difference in any way? I ask because I can eject a USB key but my portable drives are all larger than the HD on my laptop and on my desktop.

Many thanks for your answers and questions - I tried the disk in various ports and on more than one PC - I suspect there is no power supply to it so I have returned it to Amazon.

Does the NAS have web access? I can log in to mine from Firefox and activate file sharing - but I do not use file sharing much and never leave it active.

I think most Edimax wireless stuff is Linux friendly - if you search Amazon including "Linux" you will see that Edimax actually mentions it at least!

Every time I try to edit a table in Libre Office, everything freezes up although the mouse cursor moves, I cannot activate anything and have to restart with alr+ctrl+bcksp. The only way to edit Libre Office tables is to log in to a Gnome session (without effect - I haven't tried with effects)
