Re: Wireless network USB adapters

I think most Edimax wireless stuff is Linux friendly - if you search Amazon including "Linux" you will see that Edimax actually mentions it at least!

Re: [Solved] System freezing - Mint 13 Cinnamon

I moved to my LMDE box and so far have not had any freezes using Libre Office - which froze whenever i tried to save a document or scrolled through it and made using spreadsheets impossible. @gillmt: You mean LibreOffice alone froze, or Cinnamon froze while using LibreOffice? @everybody: Please, if...

Re: Bluetooth stopped working in Mint 13

Have seen two or three threads like this. One user logged out of Cinnamon and found BT worked in Gnome session - I just tried the same and BT file transfer from phone worked perfectly - as it used to on Mint 12. What with daily desktop freezes and gradually discovering more things not working and se...

Re: System freezing - Mint 13 Cinnamon

Every time I try to edit a table in Libre Office, everything freezes up although the mouse cursor moves, I cannot activate anything and have to restart with alr+ctrl+bcksp. The only way to edit Libre Office tables is to log in to a Gnome session (without effect - I haven't tried with effects)

Re: System freezing - Mint 13 Cinnamon

I have the same problem and cannot track the freeze down to anything specific. As soon as I reboot, which I can do from ALT+CTRL+F2, I check the logs and cannot see any warnings or errors. Most frustrating - Mint 12 worked perfectly after I disabled the sound applet so I did the same on Mint 13 - di...

[SOLVED] Nautilus - information about volume and space used

Nautilus used to display really helpful information when I mounted my external backup - I could see how much space was used and the total space on the volume. Could anyone tell me where this has gone please?

Linux Mint 11 Gnome odd change in desktop appearance

When I boot up, the lower panel looks a sort of 3D and the bluetooth icons are blue and white, the spacers look like raised blocks. If I right click and select "Change desktop background" but do nothing at all - just wait, the BT icons change to black, the ethernet icon style changes and a...

Re: Linux Mint 11 "Katya" released!

I've been using the RC on my second best machine and was really keen to install 11 on the best box - but I ran into problems with no panel after installing nVidia drivers. I struggled with using gedit to change the settings - couldn't get the delay time sorted - and then gave up and just used gnome ...

"open with"

I have Digikam and Picasa installed on Linux Mint Gnome. When I insert an SD card in my card reader, the volume appears but the message is that there is no application associated with the volume. I tried right clicking and "open with", then selecting a custom application by navigating to D...

KDE Display Queston

Hi. I have been using Ubuntu for 18 months - love it and have three PCs with different Gnome OS, Mint is one. I wanted to experiment with KDE - preferably one related to Mint/Ubuntu but I cannot get any live CDs to work. I have tried Fedora 10 and OpenSuse 11.1 - they both worked fine but Mint KDE a...
