Re: Replacement KDE distros... Feedback here!

Still using Mint 18.2 KDE. Will use it until they pry my cold dead hands from the keyboard, or until updates stop. Whichever comes first. :?

Re: Install desktop from recovery

Thanks for the reply, from the recovery I got errors like, try --fix-missing and auto update. Neither of them worked, luckily I had /home on a separate partition and a fresh install and update was pretty painless. I only really use the notebook once a year for an insurance audit, and I only have Vir...

Install desktop from recovery

Is there any way to install the KDE desktop from recovery? I am on mint 18.2, I got a screensaver error, when I uninstalled screensaver, it uninstalled the entire KDE environment.

Thanks

Re: Upgrade to Sylvia 18.3

Is my desktop going to go back to a default install, or stay as it was the way I customized with panels and other tweaks?

Re: [SOLVED] Make an older Kernel boot by default.

4.4.0-112 give me the same problems in power management, o well, I guess I will just stick with 4.4.0-109 :(

[SOLVED] Make an older Kernel boot by default.

Any way to pull this off, about 4 or 5 of the latest ones crash my system on resume from advanced power management, and sometimes the fans will remain running on suspend?

Swiftkey for Linux

Any one using this app in Android knows how much typing it saves.

I Found this but do not know how to install it? Right now I am typing one handed due to hand surgery.

Anyone know how to get this installed?

Re: Filesystem checks on every boot

I got the same -1, so that means no file checks ever?

I also use a desktop and used the command to do a check after every 5 mounts, should we do this for all the Linux partitions including home?

Re: Filesystem checks on every boot

As far as I can tell, it gives the message and boots right up, it does not seem it is doing the file check, unless my computer is super fast?

Re: Replacement KDE distros... Feedback here!

I tried the Neon on a USB stick, I like it, it looks just like Mint KDE, it does not come with all the same preinstalled apps, but that is not a big deal. For now I will stick with Mint KDE until it is out of date. Too bad Mint is dropping KDE.

Panel icons not spacing

In KDE 17.3 the icons on the panel to the left would space out evenly after a log out log in. (first pic)

In KDE 18.2 they will no longer do this? (second pic)

Is there a config setting that can make this happen?

Thanks

Re: Personal Cron not surviving boot [solved]

It turns out with a fresh install of LM KDE 18.2, when I was adding myself to groups, I noticed and added myself to "crontab" now now my crontab survives boot.
