Re: Flightgear

I've tried synaptic but it doesn't install the executable.
If I download the deb from the flightgear site it installs but crashes.
Looking for someone who has a working flightgear on their lmde.
Thanks for the replies though... :)

Re: Update Virtualbox and Libreoffice

I installed both via debs from their websites. There is no link to them now in the repositories. I've tried adding links but so far haven't found a link that works. In the past I've uninstalled them and reinstalled via the debs from the websites. I'm especially interested in LibreOffice because they...

Update Virtualbox and Libreoffice

I'm running UP8 now and was wondering if there is a more graceful way of upgrading Virtualbox and Libreoffice other than uninstalling the old packages and installing the new packages?
Thanks

Login Screen Spinning

Upgraded to UP8 and only one bug. I have auto login enabled and I boot just fine, everything works. The one bug is if log out the the login screen appears to be spinning so fast I can't see the login window. However there is a power off icon at the top which isn't spinning and it works. Any ideas ho...

Re: Card Reader Not Working

My card reader mysteriously started to work complete with read/write permissions. The only thing I did was Settings->Desktop and turn on "Show Mounted Volumes". Turned it off later and it still worked so doubt that was the solution. I have 2 laptops running LMDE and both card readers now work. It's ...

Be sure to "sudo apt-get install debian-system-adjustments" before upgrading to UP7... I have 2 laptops and on one laptop I installed from CD and immediately upgraded to UP7 and encountered a disaster so I reinstalled from CD, did the adjustments command and then upgraded. On my other laptop I had b...

Re: VirtualBox Installation Problems

You'll need the version for Debian 6.0 or upgrade LMDE to UP7. If you upgrade to UP7 from a fresh install of 201203 be sure to run the following command: sudo apt-get install debian-system-adjustments This is from the post http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=198&t=146220&p=769694&hilit=20130...

UP6 Repo

Not having much luck on UP7 so I reinstalled UP6 however my sources.list point to the UP7 repos. What should my list look like if I want to upgrade only within UP6?
The blog say's http://mirrors.fe.up.pt/linuxmint-debian/ but that doesn't seem to work.

Re: Card Reader Not Working

I feel like I'm talking to myself here :D
In case someone else has the same problem: I can reboot with sd card installed and the system recognizes it. I googled the problem and someone posted a wordaround:
# sudo echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/rescan
Didn't work but the reboot does.

Unfortunately Windows is sometimes necessary and this is probably one of those cases. I have a CanoScan scanner that works in a virtualbox running windows 7. Doesn't work in linux however. By running in VB I can use the scanned image in linux. I have several programs that I need that I run under Win...

Re: Changing Theme

-> System Settings
-> Themes
-> Get More Online tab
-> Right Mouse Click on the one you like
-> Mark for Installation
-> Install

The ones I installed didn't come with a background, you need to install a new background of your choice.
