how to test their success
1. install jockey-common
sudo apt-get install jockey-common # universe must be added into /etc/apt/sources.list
2. sudo jockey-text -l # -l is the lower case of L
This command will tell you the status of your nVida driver module.

Recovery mode boot with the option nomodeset. That means boot without any display driver but only with vesa mode. So its resolution is low and other support is not sufficient.
