SystemRescueCD http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page offers a suite of applications geared toward recovery and backup. It's a LiveCD so you'll need to boot to the CD. I've been using it for years.

Re: Alternative to Publisher
With respect to K3b, just burn the CD as a data CD instead of as an audio CD. Drag and drop your mp3 files using the built in file manager in k3b.

Verification Install - No Internet [Solved]
Most likely at some point in the not-too-distant future I'm going to need to install Mint 17 LTS (32 or 64 bit) with no internet connection initially. The reason the install will be net naked is because we will be installing behind a corporate firewall. Post install, I will update - build the necess...

Just kick off the updates on your schedule. I run the week's accumulation of updates on Saturday mornings. You do not have to install every available update the nano second that it's released.

Zeitgeist Back?
With this week's updates of MATE LTS, I see that the library supporting Zeitgeist is a candidate install. I thought we had dispensed with Zeitgeist versions ago. Is it again being built into the core ops?

Re: How do I upgrade spotify
Then that is probably the only version of Spotify that is available for Linux (at the moment). Per the website, these are experimental builds. I suspect that the linux version that they are propogating is significantly behind the "Windows" production version. What's not working for you in ...

Your question is somewhat vague. If you are intending to set or reset the password for phpMyAdmin, you might refer to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12224431/create-a-root-password-for-phpmyadmin If you are trying to set or reset the MySQL password, reply back and I'll attemt to provide represe...

Re: Multi Card Reader Stopped Working
It's been my limited experience that most of the built-in (or added) multi media card readers are near junk on a good day. Over the years, I added 2 different readers to my desktop. One lasted about a week, the other hung in there for almost a month. I've stopped using them and instead use a usb plu...

If you are not 100% good to go on your Brother Printers, you might want to take a look at the following post in the tutorials (it's the one I followed to configure a Brother multi-function a while ago) :

If you're relying on Thunderbird as your mail client, I'd suggest doing the same as described above for Firefox.

You do it during install. When you come to the partitioning section select the "something else" or "other" as an option.

Somewhere in the MySQL instructions there should be a line of code to be inserted into your sources.list. 1. Copy this line of code to your paste buffer 2. Launch synaptic 3. Settings -> Repositories -> Additional Repositories -> Add New Repository 4. Fill in the details 5. Click the "Reload&qu...

Re: How to install Spotify "Deb" In Linux Mint (Without Wine
Post installation : you might want to adjust the cache for Spotify. It loves to eat cache and may leave you with +2G less available storage space in a short amount of time.

Suggest that you both launch synaptic. Search for libbz2. If it shows installed, try re-installing it. If it isn't installed, then proceed with the installation.

Re: MySQL - Access denied for user?
You referenced MariaDB in your post. I understand it's close to MySQL but not the same. Did it afford you an opportunity to establish the root account when it was built initially?
