Hi I recently used a cheap chinese charger on this dell N5030 laptop There was so much hash and other rubbish on the line it stopped the laptop and caused a lot of sofftware corruption. that doesnt alter the list oder but its set the default which is now LM19
At least now if this laptop restarts I know which OS its booted into :)

Hiya thanks for the reply tried that and rebooted, and still LM17.3 at the top , so it looks like its using the grub config off of /dev/sda9. grub.cfg is one of those file that has "do not edit" at the top maybe I could mount /dev/sda9/boot and run update-grub -o <where ever I mount /dev/sda9/boot> ...

hi glad you are getting success, I have the same CPU and a ASUS ROG B450-i Mobo Running nicely on kernel 4.17, I'm not a gamer. The only down point are the comments like you wont get answers to questions for running a non supported kernel So at least there are two us now . I got away with a 300w psu...

Hi
before I resort to CLI
is there any way of forcing the display manager, Preferences> Display
to show all standard display resolutions when it cant detect a monitor, even when ones is attached and working
