Re: Latest LMDE packages

Thanks, the info was very useful. For SQLite users it will be a problem, its so heavily integrated in to all distros, you cant uninstall and build your own version. perhaps someone will realise the foolishness of removing the memory recover option and put it back in when complaint levels get high en...

Re: Latest LMDE packages

Thanks for the reply I'm battling large memory leaks in LM20. I've got from 20 mins before OOM kicks in and kills the application which needs to be run for several hours sometimes up to 12 hours, to about 4 hours. I found the worst culprit to be SQLite, fixed by moving to mysql , but major problems ...

Live_MUF on LM20 [FOR INFORMATION]

If you are not a Radio Amateur this will not interest you LiveMUF will not run properly on LM20 If you use SQLite you will find the memory usage high , a huge memory leak which will cause OOM to shut it down depending on how much system memory you have and which bands you monitor , between 10 to 20...

Re: New feature on LM20?

Starting to get to the bottom of these problems the problem with SQLite leaking memory is caused by someone deciding to remove the memory recover option in sqlite Catch 22 , is to put it back in need recompiling, and sqlite is heavily embedded in LM20 so you cant remove it and install the newly fixe...

No menus after fresh install of LM20 cinamon

After being forced in to a fresh install of LM20 due a 18 month old alledged fixed bug which totally screwed up the file system , left apt in a mess with broken packages which as fast as you try to fix just re-appeared. All appears to be functional but NO displayed menus Opening the menu editor ever...

Re: New feature on LM20?

After a lot of digging the culprit looks to be sqlite/sqlite3 Even though the author of live_MUF has added extra code to stop the memory leak, , all that has happened is it now takes 40 mins instead of 20 mins before OOM kicks in and kills it SQLITE IS BROKEN All I can do is to move to mysql Mysql-5...

Re: apt or dpkg force

Its a great shame that this information is not widely circulated , broken packages are becoming more common, and these are not the ones that a couple of developers have written. A lot are from the major sources, the packages you download and have faith they work, you usually find the problems are ve...

Re: apt or dpkg force

it seemed to be the dpkg info on that file that was causing a problem.
The dependency of the two files was very weak, I did try a --force-all first , but it wouldn't budge

Re: New feature on LM20?

Looks like it, you can run a 32 bit VM but not 64 bit
the other machine has a AMD processor and the bios can be set, but Dell have really knobbled this one.

Re: New feature on LM20?

Now running the current version of Live MUF in a VM running LM19.3 i386 NO memory problems AND the whole working Live_MUF directory was copied to the VM, so everything is the same. SO NOT the latest version of Live_MUF NOT the current version of Mono as 6.10 is in use that just points at the current...
