is it possible to add the required dependencies for steam to the main lmde repo? it seems pretty easy for non-newbies to set up but a lot of people ( i would assume, i'm not taking polls here ) would like to get steam running. not trying to troll, would be happy with a serious response for either ye...

it's not really a rough edge, the steam linux client is only tested against ubuntu. if you're running lmde you're gonna have to do some work unless the guys doing the build go out of their way to bridge the gap from this side.

thanks, i was just worried i would break something by adding in the debian repos, added in debian testing mirror so hopefully it doesn't explode. thanks for the good answer to a vague question.

is it possible to install software like pypy in LMDE that's available in the debian repos while still keeping everything else mint based? i like that LMDE is solid and doesn't require tonnes of updates or a reinstall every 6 months but i still need to keep some packages up to the bleeding edge.
