Live session screensaver lock does not accept blank password (and how I unlocked the session).
The Live session username is supposed to be "mint" and there is no password. I was using a USB startup disk for Mint 18.1 w/ Cinnamon (32-bit) to wipe the hard drive before installing the OS. While the wipe was happening, the screensaver launched, due to no activity, and locked the session...
