Re: [SOLVED] Net Runner vs Mint KDE

Mint 12 KDE, with the KDE 4.8.1 upgrade is so stable that is boring....

I would go for it. and I'm certainly not going back to kubuntu....

I think you can't. But don't worry. KDE 4.8.1 is behaving quite nicely.

Re: Sleep mode when closing lid. LM12KDE.

Question: did you upgrade to KDE 4.8? There is a known, annoying bug in 4.8 that is causing this problem. What is happening is that for some reason, developers gave some applications priority to decide over power devil. This means power devil sends the signal to suspend to RAM (or disk) but some app...

Re: Intermittet wifi on hp pavillion dv9000

Well that could definately be a problem. But as I said, wireless runs okay under wicd. Should I have problems with the wifi card itself, none of the network managers should work, shouldnt they? I will have a look on how to update the bios under Linux, since I do not have a windows partition. On the ...

Re: Intermittet wifi on hp pavillion dv9000

Thanks for the response Husse, but just didnt work out...

I'm switched to wicd until some solution comes out. Do you know how to make wicd get online after waking from suspend? It finds the networks, authentificates, but fails to obtain the IP adress.

Thanks again :)

Re: Intermittet wifi on hp pavillion dv9000

update: Have been able to somewhat obtain a better data transfer by removing network manager and installing wicd. However, the latter wont connect to the wifi signal after resuming from suspend. Last thing I did was to give network manager another try, it worked, but only for a couple of days, now I...

Intermittet wifi on hp pavillion dv9000

Hello to all!, I have been trying to find a solution for this, but it seems there are specific possible causes for this common issue... I have an HP dv9000, Broadcom wireless card has not showed any issue since I installed Gloria, however, my wifi connectivity has turned jumpy a couple of weeks ago....

@Mmesantos1: *siiiiiigh* Alright, you know the routine... What icon theme is that? Early happy autumn equinox, for those who celebrate it. It's very cool, alternating sunny and blattery rain today, so with the Autumnal feel very much in the air, I had to change my desktop early. "Persia" them...

Re: Monthly Stats - August 2009

Those are just great news! Personally I would think at first glance that the LTS should have a bigger share. But keeping in mind how both Ubuntu and Mint have improved over the last year (I'm thinking about laptop support here), its easy to see why users are still moving forward. Elyssa gave me the ...

Regarding "remembering running applications when logging off, yes, I noted that option on the startup sessions menu, I unchecked it, but the applications still show up everytime I boot the system. :( It keeps the config file from the last...
