Re: Error after failed .deb install

Ah, ok I see what you mean. No I don't wan't to install Deepin's software center. Just thought I'd take a look at it to see what all the fuss is about. I need to recover after the failed install. I get this E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the prob...

Re: Error after failed .deb install

What? That can't be true. Surely Mint can't be that fragile?

There must be a way to manually abort an install process when it fails. Especially for an LTS release.

Anyone?

Re: Error after failed .deb install

I don't have output. Killed it when it got stuck.

Now all I get is this (in Danish but you'll get it):

Code: Select all

mb@mb-laptop ~ $ sudo dpkg --configure -a
[sudo] password for mb:
Sætter deepin-software-center (2.0.5) op...

..and nothing else happens.

Error after failed .deb install

Mint 9 XFCE

Tried to install a .deb which failed. It just hangs, nothing happens.

Now, when I try to open Synaptic it tells me I have to do

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --configure -a
to fix it.

But that just continues the installation which still hangs and never completes.

Can it be fixed?

Re: Java on Linux

You need the newest Java.

Guide here: http://www.duinsoft.nl/packages.php?t=en

Look for "Repository" and follow the steps. It will remove your old java and install the latest in stead.

Aftar that java will work again.

Re: Java

The problem is that you may need the proprietory java to use web bank and other services. I wouldn't remove it.

[SOLVED] PAE-kernel -what is it exactly?

Hi guys First of all: I'm used to running *buntu but a few weeks ago decided to try out Mint Debian XFCE. So far it feels like coming home. A few days ago a new kernel was automatically installed: 2.6.39-2-686-pae. Everything appeared to work, except wireless. I decided to find out what the pae-kern...

Re: Wireless driver enabled - but no network?

Ok, so I did that and it appears that a new driver was installed. It's called "Support for 5xxx series of Atheros 802.11 wireless LAN cards". But the computer still doesn't find my wireless network?

Re: Wireless driver enabled - but no network?

I have a wired connection for Mint.

Do I just remove the present driver then sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-intrepid-generic and reboot?

:)

Wireless driver enabled - but no network?

Hi, I'm new to Mint and just installed it on my laptop. (Dualboot with Vista.) Everything seems to work except the wireless internet. In Hardware Drivers I found: "Support for Atheros 802.11 wireless LAN cards enabled" but Mint doesn't find the 4-5 wireless networks (one of which is mine) that Vista...
