Re: Weather App

AZgl1500 : so, it's not only me. I live in Canada and go to the national weather service and it's fine. I also have used weather underground ... and they all report similar temps ... but this app is just wrong :)

Re: Weather App

powerwagon75 : I'm using the same app as you are. And, yes, I have the correct WOEID. I just think that whatever server this WOEID points to is getting its info wrong. No idea why. If I go to Mate, the app there has a menu which guides you though continent, country, etc. and it has the correct info.

Weather App

I have the weather app in my panel and it sort of works ... but the temperature is wrong. I think it might be 'cause whatever station Yahoo is using is wrong ... but it is the only one for my area. Other desktops, ie. Mate, use different weather apps and they report correct information. So, can I us...

Re: Scrollbars smaller and smaller

I just created a file .config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css and put some size info there. .scrollbar { -GtkScrollbar-has-backward-stepper: true; -GtkScrollbar-has-forward-stepper: true; -GtkRange-slider-width: 15; -GtkRange-stepper-size: 8; } I've not had a chance to try this with Mate, but it does work nicely w...

Re: linux-firmware update disables Mate Weather Applet

I've got the same firmware (really not sure what it does) and kernel Linux version 4.10.0-42-generic (buildd@lgw01-amd64-007) (gcc version 5.4.0 20160609 (Ubuntu 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.5) ) #46~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Dec 4 15:57:59 UTC 2017 My weather app is working just fine. Did you try with a diffe...

I never thought this would be so hard ... I figured I'd just change a config file somewhere. Oh the mysteries of life.

I'm running 18.3. Can anyone confirm that there is a change here ... or should I spent some more time trying?

Re: Notification Applet Font

Thanks for the try :) I just spent a few minutes playing with gnome-color-chooser, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on any of the different bits and pieces of the Mate desktop. Odd, since I thought that Mate was essentially a gnome wrapper.

Notification Applet Font

Is it possible to change the font size for the notification applet. I'm running "notification-area-applet" which I think is the default for the mate desktop, but I'm not sure. I've tried to change the fonts in the "look and feel" options, but it doesn't seem to make any different (not sure which, if...

zero is what is returned.

I've posted this topic to the github folks. Maybe they have something to add. Hopeful.

Far as I know, dist-upgrade is pretty much the same as doing it from the update-manager. And, that would be my preference. But since neither method does anything it really doesn't matter :)

Re: Update from 18.2 to 18.3

I just did this: Screenshot at 2017-12-02 23-49-21.png After choosing install updates I ended up with upgrade.jpg from the edit menu It's a poor second picture, but it was taken with my phone then cropped and exported from gimp which I never use :? I just checked again. I DO NOT have that option in...

Re: Update from 18.2 to 18.3

Okay (well not okay) ... I reset my sources to the default and get the same as you. Still no update version option. I also enabled the Romeo option, refreshed and tried again. Still no new version. This is getting depressing. It really shouldn't be that hard. Ummm, would any of the settings in updat...

Update from 18.2 to 18.3

Just wondering how long it should be before I see this option in update manager. I've made sure I have the latest sources by doing an update, but the Edit tab doesn't show any update. Oh, and I have changed the repositories as well, but that hasn't made a difference (just tried some US and Canadian ...
