Re: How to print discontinuous page ranges in KDE?

Try using "Evince" Document Viewer, or LibreOffice Draw, or one of the many other PDF applications. I did not realize until your post, that the excellent Okular PDF application does not seem to have that particular "print pages" option, but Evince Document Viewer does as do most...

Uh, yeah, I’m sure that’s well intentioned, and thanks for trying to be helpful, but my point is: there is no such option. Here:

Meta key stops working for Application Launcher

The Meta key stops working (ie stops bringing up the Application Launcher) after another shortcut is used, eg Alt-Tab. This seems to be a known problem . Has anyone found out how to fix this or tried Plasma 5.9 to see whether it’s fixed there? Edit: This does not happen in my 32-bit install of Linux...

[solved] How to print discontinuous page ranges in KDE?

How do I print discontinuous page ranges on KDE, eg in Okular? On non-KDE distros, you can give a range such as "2-5;12;17-19" in order to print eight pages. Surely, there must be a way to do this on KDE?!

No German keyboard layout to be found in Mint 18 KDE

I can’t seem to find a German keyboard layout. Might this be due to missing language support? (Other *ubuntu versions used to prompt right after install that certain language files might be missing and whether you wanted to install them.) Any help much appreciated!

Kein dt. Tastatur-Layout in Mint 18 KDE?

Ich kann partout kein deutsches Tastatur-Layout in der KDE-Version von Mint 18 finden. Liegt es evtl. an fehlenden Sprachdateien? Kann jemand helfen?

Re: Linux Mint 17.1 “Rebecca” MATE released!

I keep getting an md5sum mismatch for the x64 edition. The md5sum is supposed to be c37ca530d17bfdf6431e92c92baf8503; a torrent download gives me c5632a4ea5e6262a876d958a50d9414c, a direct download using DownThemAll gives me d7e14c1866f2347c930f355824a87936. Re: Linux Mint 15 RC – bug reports

All three bugs I reported have been (mostly) fixed by now. Only thing that remains is that Windows key shortcuts are not completely functional: they don’t seem to be working for the Glippy hotkey (no problem in the MATE edition); and the shortcut for the launcher “Launch terminal” won’t accept a Win...

But then I believe you saw that a) I didn’t complain and b) I reported two bugs that have been present in Cinnamon for mont...

Linux Mint 15 RC – bug reports

I’ve been running the LM15 Olivia RC (Cinnamon 64-bit) for a couple of hours, and it’s looking very good indeed. A couple of bugs, though: – My machine (an Acer 1810TZ) won’t shut down properly. After the modem-manager says its usual “caught signal 15, shutting down”, nothing happens. – Show/Hide de...

Re: How to use VNC (vino) in LM14 Cinnamon?

Okay, got this solved. This is what you do:

1. Install dconf-tools from standard repositories.
2. Start dconf-editor via the Alt-F2 launcher
3. Go to desktop–gnome–remote access
4. Check Alternate port and change port number accordingly.

Re: Cinnamon in LM14 64-bit hogs memory

So it is. The issue has already been reported for LM13, but, although a number of people have confirmed it, this has neither been officially recognized as a bug nor been assigned to someone for fixing.

So please weigh in on that thread if you are seeing this too.

[solved] How to use VNC (vino) in LM14 Cinnamon?

Hey guys,

I am trying to use the built-in remote desktop in LM14 but can’t seem to find the setting to change the display port. In Gnome, that could be set via the gnome-conf-editor. Any ideas where is this hidden in Cinnamon?

Quick Launch with 1 instance of prog only

Is there a way to make Quick Launch behave like it does in Win7, i.e. any program that is in the Quick Launch panel starts in only one instance if left-clicked, minimizes if open and focused? Or is there a Cinnamon applet that does this?

Cinnamon in LM14 64-bit hogs memory

I am regularly seeing Cinnamon eat up between 300 and 900 MBytes of RAM—as reported by gnome-system-monitor. Is anyone else seeing this? Taken together with the keyboard shortcut bug that nobody seems to feel responsible for solving, this just made me switch back to the MATE edition.

Re: Bug reporting/tracking needs improving

Are you volunteering to help in this effort? Great illustration of my point, DataMan. Telling people (explicitly or implicitly) that their pointing out problems is not helping is a problem . Also, if someone who can actually speak for the project had asked me to volunteer a couple of hours per week...
