Re: Linux is killing lap top's battery. Is it considered nor

I used both Linux and Win XP alongside on the same lap top at the same time period. So I still think that there is may be something wrong with my Linux settings. Screen brightness seems to be the same for both systems.

LM 15 Olivia and the previous one are killing the battery...

It is like 4 or 5 times faster for LM to drain my Dell Inspiron laptop's battery then Window XP does. Is there any remedy? Is it something that is unique only to me or it is widespread experience?

Broken images after moving from LM 13 to LM 15

Some broken images in Firefox when browsing in the internet after moving from Linux Mint 13 Maya (Mate 64 bit) to Linux Mint 15 Olivia (Mate 64 bit). Have anybody else had this problem? Is there way to fix it?

This is a great guide about partitioning Linux Mint. Thanks a lot for a great job Nisha! This should be included somewhere in FAQ or stick in Installation subforum.

Do i have to assign /boot and /home when upgrading from LM 13 to LM 15 or just / ? I also have XP there. On the manual partitioning screen during the installation of the LM15, choose the / of the LM 13 and use it as ext4, you can also check the format option if you want a fresh LM15 to replace LM13...

Re: My LinuxMint was infected by FBI MoneyPak virus.. Need h

No problem in Win XP. In Linux no problem until I get to the tab with that FBI warning page. As soon as I get there the browser locks. I am using Firefox in Linux.

I tried to install Clam Av using Software Manager but the only one it has is Clam Av for Unix. Is it the one I need?

Thanks excollier, I'll see if I can do that. Hi Karl, while I was browsing the internet the screen was blocked and the "FBI warning page" loaded with the MoneyPak payment option of $300. I research the internet and find out that this thing happened to many other users but never see anyone ...

LM was infected by FBI MoneyPak virus.. Need help! [SOLVED]

I think that my LinuxMint system was infected by so called FBI MoneyPak virus. It happened that I have both Windows XP and LinuxMint on my laptop. So since I don't have any anti-virus program installed on Linux partition, I thought that I could probably scan the Linux from my WinXp partition. Window...
