Creating a system from scratch
I am creating a OS from scratch and not using linux as anything but a compiler and tools to build it with. Anyways I compiled it with gcc and I need to write it to the first sector of the disk. How do I write it to the disk?

Yea hi,
Is there software that will allow my laptop fan to work on Mint 15? When I boot up it will spin. However when it boots to the operating system it stops. This causes it to overheat and shutdown. Any advice on how to fix it?

I have a computer with 117 GB of HDD. I allowed Linux Mint 15 to use up all of my hard drive. Yet I want 17 GB of swap. How do I shrink my ext4 Partition by 17 GB and get 17 GB of swap? Thanks!
