Yes, you're right, same error message for me after the 210MB download and unpacking steam runtime... :(

I guess steamOS will roll and rock everything in its way (for gamers at least)... http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/

This .deb worked now with latest UP7 packages apparently... :P
(Intel default graphic driver, LMDE MATE 64bits refreshed from UP7/Incoming)

Downloading 210 MB worth of updates from Steam now and I should be rolling ! Yeah
Thanx!

Re: MATE menu changed to gnome 3 style menu during update

You can right-clic on your task bar and "Add" the other Mint-menu or Mate-menu from the list of desklets (and "delete" the existing menu you don't want). :!:

Re: UPDATE PACK 7 FEEDBACK THREAD

As for the thorough testing, we need someone with a real machine to test it in Steam, Wine and Skype. Anyone? :) I can do that... Will check Steam for LMDE... So far so good with UP7, I had a font problem on first reboot (text on "Shutdown..." buttons where only empty squares/not readable : [][] []...

I just re-arranged the taskbar at the bottom myself after migrating to MATE 1.6.

(Or you should be able to drag-and-drop items like the menu or date/time from the top taskbar to the bottom taskbar , before deleting the top taskbar ...)

Re: LMDE 64bit default install getting slower and slower

Just amazing how much disc activity (mostly reading) is taking place before programs open, websites change etc. This doesn't look normal at all, do you have another spare disk to try and install LMDE to ? Otherwise you can give a try to Update Pack 7 that is coming in the following weeks that might...

Re: How to access the keyring GUI in MATE ?

Ok, here is what I did to reset MATE keyring : cd .config/mate/keyrings rm default.keyring (It is not anymore in /user/.gnome2/keyring directory as it was in previous versions and as advised on some blog posts) It works now fine again (after having changed the user and root passwords : the keyring w...

[SOLVED] How to access the keyring GUI in MATE ?

I don't find any shortcut in my MATE menu for the keyring ? http://karuppuswamy.com/wordpress/2011/10/24/how-to-get-rid-of-%E2%80%9Center-password-to-unlock-your-login-keyring%E2%80%9D-in-linux-mint-debian-edition-lmde/ (Just changed my root and user passwords and I get errors with keyring mismatch....

What filesystem are you using ? EXT2/3/4, another one ?
(It should not lag over time but it may help for investigation...)

Re: LMDE Update Pack 7 - when?

When you don't update firefox you will miss the security updates and bug fixes. I know, but looking at the release pace of firefox, I find it normal that LM does not update it just in time. We missed FF22, and we got FF23 three weeks after it release, this is quite satisfying for a free distributio...

You're most welcome.

As for Firefox or Thunderbird, security updates are mandatory ASAP, even if it sometimes lags with my slow internet connection (!)

Re: Why a whole slew of updates?

It is certainly MATE 1.6 (vs old MATE 1.4 before - or are you using Cinnamon ?). :o

I'm happy to have lots of bug corrections and new functionnalities with MATE 1.6 not having to wait for the next Update Pack 7 !

Re: UDP to Google every User login/logout

It might be the Update Manager (though I don't understand why at logout ?)

Try changing "google.com" by "nytimes.com" in the Update Manager "ping" settings (second tab if I remember well) and check what your firewall tells you ?...

Re: Mate 1.6 Available

Nope, mint-artwork-mate was not installed by default on my LMDE-MATE-64bit-201303... (Might be a repository problem ? It said "last version"=1.1.0 on my german server froonix.org but switching back to the main server gave v1.1.4 correctly now. I might have messed with my Repos... Sorry.) I hope my r...

Re: Mate 1.6 Available

Ok, downloading the package "mate-themes" solved this...
(I switched back to TraditionalGreen theme anyway.)

But this package should be mandatory indeed when upgrading to MATE 1.6 - as suggested here :
