Re: Linux Mint 9 "Isadora" RC released!
Absolutely no video after boot options on live 64bit DVD! Even in "compatibility mode". Nvidia geforce 9600 gt. And you can't search this forum post for "nvidia" because the term is "too common" so maybe someone has said something but if you can't search you can't find ...

Re: LM 9 No video after boot options on live DVD
Same here: GeForce 9600 GT. Even booting in "compatibility mode" doesn't work. Same system works fine with LM 8.

Re: Mint Backup stalls
Yes, but: it stalls for me too and what good is a backup utility if it doesn't backup all your files? I suspect this tool isn't mature enough to depend on. Suggest the good old standby rsync.

Re: Thunderbird menu fonts unreadable (Gloria)
Actually, simpler than that. I forgot I was using the Noia theme. No good for Thunderbird (even though it works fine for Firefox). Deleting that theme and using the default theme fixes the problem. solved

Re: Thunderbird menu fonts unreadable (Gloria)
Actually, I realize by comparing my profile to a newly created one (by renaming the .mozilla-thunderbird directory) the problem isn't the font colors but rather the background color for the menus. It is gray for me and black for the default profile. Still don't know how to fix though...

[Solved] Thunderbird menu fonts unreadable (Gloria)
I installed Gloria onto a new disk and then copied just the .mozilla and .mozilla-thunderbird directories from my felicia disk into the newly created home directory. Thunderbird works correctly except that the fonts in the menus are unreadable because they have white foregrounds instead of black. Th...

Re: Install Mint onto LVM
This is too far out to give support for. It's as AvanceIT says tricky - to say the least I can accept that. For anyone else stumbling on this, I re-installed Mint 6 using the above Ubuntu-specific post and it more or less worked. Just be sure to mount everything on /target as the comments say. FWIW...

Re: Install Mint onto LVM
Hi ! Basically you need to install Mint as normal, then install LVM support, and then migrate the filesystems over to LVM ... Not easy but it can be done if you have the right UNIX experience ;) The Ubuntu link above isn't exactly that. More details maybe? Do you simply istall LVM, create a /boot p...

Re: Installing to a usb drive with persistent storage
Ubuntu 8.10 (upon which Linux Mint 6 is based) has a element in the admin menu item called "create a usb startup disk" which automatically does persistence with a click or two. I'm wondering why this isn't in Mint 6? And can it be added to Mint 6 after the fact? This really seems like the ...
