Re: GRUB won't reinstall on DUAL-BOOT drive!

My crystal ball tells that you have a msdos partition table, so you use legacy grub2 , so you need to boot using liveDVD or USB and run the next commands. sudo mount /dev/sda5 /mnt sudo grub-install --boot-directory=/mnt/boot /dev/sda sudo umount /mnt When you have rebooted, run sudo update-grub fro...

Re: No such Device and unkown filesystem errors after reinstalling Mint 19.3

You have a boot flag bug (Disk Flags: pmbr_boot ) , which is preventing linux to find bootable disk, so change or remove that flag using GParted. You could also make a bios_grub partition to the GPT disk. It is about 1 MB partition. https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc/?id=7023923 Disable UEFI from b...

Re: Dual Boot: Win7 login ok - LM 19.3 No login

If this is cinnamon desktop, so reinstall it via virtual console (tty).
Press Ctrl+Alt+F2 and login and run

Code: Select all

apt reinstall mint-meta-cinnamon
After installing press Ctrl+Alt+F7 and login.

PS. If you use Mate, the command is

Code: Select all

apt reinstall mint-meta-mate
If XFce

Code: Select all

apt reinstall mint-meta-xfce

"ata2: comreset failed (errno-=-32)" a number of times.
It is somekind of bios settings problem, so try to change sata, pata, ide, raid and achi settings. One explanation can be a faulty hard drive too.
