How I determine which partition I want to delete It shows . Disc 1 c:os primary Disc 2 D:data 32 gb logical *: ext4 logical *: ext4 logical *: ext4 logical *: Linux Swap logical This is a dual boot system, which I also have 17 cinnamon, and 19 mate on. How can I tell which is 17 & which is 19? Thx

thx for ur reply, but I have several questions. How do I determine which kernal version I have? 2nd if I have no wi-fi ability in 19 how do I get ukuu. I have a dual boot laptop with 17.1 cinnamon on it. I went to upgrade to 19.1 mate. I installed it following on screen prompts, but most have done something wrong. Every thing seems to be fine.

I chose " something else" and highlighted the /dev/sda5 as the partition to over write.
I then chose /dev/sda for the boot loader location.
I received the following error message.
" No root file system is defined. Please correct this from the partitioning menu."
How do I do that?

I think that I spoke prematurely. It had worked and I logged off. When I came back on it indicated that my wired connection was unplugged ( it was), but I had no wi-fi. It showed I had wi-fi 2 days ago. How do I get it to boot into wireless as the default? What did I do wrong, that it did not remain...

I may have spoken prematuraly. I shut down and re-booted and now it does not conect to my wireless network. It showed that I was connected 2 daays ago, and that my wired connection was unplugged.
What do I need to do to make the wireless the default setup and boot into it?
