left-click the volume icon-> sound settings and then you can put to 153% in cinnamon

just point your ssd to / and your hdd to /home and swap in the installation (gparted)

Here i have mint17 and 17.1 and lmde but when i play with an other distro it is this one: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dmdc10il/
DMDc 3.5.5 (Testing) is a distro based on Debian Testing and MATE 1.8.

I'm not sure I'm understanding here. So if I install the RC release it will update to the stable release without me having to delete the RC and then install the stable release?

After Thunderbird is uninstalled, start Nemo or Caja and press Ctrl+H to show hidden files. Then, delete the folder .mozilla-thunderbird in your home directory.
